Just because you can't see the tusks, doesn't mean that they aren't there. Unless the pig is a large boar (200lbs) you probably won't see them because they are hidden inside their mouth. They are not like a warthog where they are very visible.

I used to go boar hunting in Central FL. Most of the time they really don't look like the typical "razorback" hogs you imagine but more like ferral pigs. They are very common in Central FL. I had a non-hunting friend that did not believe that armadillos were common in FL until he saw one in his own backyard. Lot's of interesting wildlife here.

I was shocked when I saw an armadillo at *** a couple of years ago (I'm from Washington state). My step-son did not believe me until he almost tripped over it.

"Ummm...yeah, National? This is Mr. Jones -- I just hit a pig in my Camry."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jones. You hit a deer?"
"No, ummm... a pig."
"A pig?"
"Yes, a pig."
"As in, pork cutlets pig?"
"Yes. A pig..."

I just about spit my soda out all over my government issue keyboard. There has got to be another tag in there for you. That is hiystarical.!
