Okay -- we have been all around WDW numerous times. Tonight was a first.
We were leaving MK, heading south towards CSR.
Along the road we often see wildlife -- water birds, turkeys, buzzards, deer...
Tonight -- PIGS.
What is a pack of pigs? :confused3 :rotfl2:
They were all sizes, cream color with a black stripe around their mid section.
Who knows their pigs, and what type were they? :confused3

Were their houses made of Straw, Sticks, or Brick?

:goodvibes

The pigs escaped from POC???? Capt Jack must have scared them!!!!

seriously....I have no clue.

There are wild pigs in this area, but the ones I've seen have been dark and about the size of a beagle.

We first saw something by the road in a pack. And I thought those don't look like buzzards. (Just far enough away at first to see a shape outline.) Too small for deer.
PIGS! :confused3 :rotfl:
What are several pigs? A peck of pigs? A pack of pork? :confused3 :rotfl:

What you described are Hampshire pigs (or hogs) I believe. At least that is what I think the breed is called. We used to raise hogs and that is a type or breed of hog. Maybe they escaped from a farm?

I figured they must be wild. They were rooting around on the grass, like pigs do hunting for food.
I did not see any tusks. I guess I figured wild hogs have tusks. But I suppose not necessarily.
DH says even the smaller ones were larger than beagles. He guessed one to be at least 150 pounds.
But hard to say when they are just by the road as we are going by.
And really I don't know the difference between a hog and a pig, or are they the same? :confused3

This little piggy went to Epcot. This little piggy went to Magic Kingdom. This little piggie went to Disney MGM. This little piggy went to Animal Kingdom.
And this piggy went Home.
No more little piggies!!

I have seen 2 wild pigs (very large ones) dead alongside the back roads near MK in the past 2 years (one on Seidel Road and one on Reams Road). Whoever hit them must have really damaged their car.

How does one explain that to the rental car company?

"Ummm...yeah, National? This is Mr. Jones -- I just hit a pig in my Camry."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jones. You hit a deer?"
"No, ummm... a pig."
"A pig?"
"Yes, a pig."
"As in, pork cutlets pig?"
"Yes. A pig..."

Hey I live in New Hampshire and it sounds like a motorcycle club in our area.

Wild pigs are quite common in Florida. The more things are built up, the more you will see them (alongside roads, in fields, etc). We used to have a bunch of them in my neighborhood, used to see them all the time. I remember once I had to stop my car and wait as a mother pig, about 5 piglets, and what I assume to be the daddy pig bringing up the rear crossed the road just around the corner from my house. None of them had tusks.

Did anyone see the "Hogzilla" program recently on, I think, TLC?? It spoke about how quickly a pig will go wild, and what kinds of body changes (tusks, etc.) it undergoes in just a few short generations.

I just hate that I chose to become a librarian when there was such a job as "digging up the remains of an 800 pound rotted hog" out there in the world.

BACON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

i saw them yesterday as I was leaving work. It was quite an interesting day. I saw two deer out on the back road, it was broad daylight about 4ish. then a few feet farther i saw a rabbit, then a few feet further over by grand floridian, several turkies. then I saw the pigs, in the exact place you described them. it was an interesting experience. They are wild pigs. there was to many of themto be escaped. and there are no farms in the area.

Some of the employees where my husband use to work use to go hunting wild boar in Auburndale, Fl. They claim they are all over Central Florida. I've only ever seen one along the road in Mulberry. I've noticed more Bob cats along the roads.

Pig: up to 120 pounds. Hog: over 120 pounds. Miss Piggy weighs LESS than 120 pounds "And don't you forget it Bub!" :thumbsup2

A number of pigs and hogs together is called a Bar-B-Que :rotfl2: . This can refure to the food or the people eating the food :rotfl: .
