there are differant types of what she has?Not to be answered here, but which exact one do you have?

I think tattoos and multiple piercings are tacky. I am always a little shocked when I see a tattoo on somebody unexpectedly. It does change how I think about them. My husband has joked over the years about getting a tattoo; I always told him: "I hope your next wife will like it!" I would be very unhappy if my children got tattoos or came home sporting a bunch of facial hardware.
I know.."judge not lest ye be judged". I'm just being honest.

I can sure understand that and is the main reason I haven't gotten one--don't want to regret something so permanent. However, it doesn't make that sort of attitude "right". (and Faye, thank you for giving your honest opinion--I know that you're not alone in your thinking).See, everyone? My post is so buried in this thread, but this is exactly why I want mine removed.

That's why it took me so long to get my first Tattoo. I was afraid I wouldn't like it anymore.See, everyone? My post is so buried in this thread, but this is exactly why I want mine removed.

One of my DD's boyfriends had a lip piercing and I admit I was a little taken aback by it, but I figured the problem was mine.
I missed that thread...I'll have to look for it.Just look at the lower back tat thread to see how many people feel.I don't mind people being honest and saying they don't like tat's FOR THEM. I don't like people making judgements about others based on outward appearances.

And if people don't like me cause of my tattoo, well....I hang out somewhere else.
Warning: here is my honest opinion. If you don’t want to read a negative opinion about piercings and tattoos, stop reading now.
I do not like tattoos and facial piercings. As a matter of personal taste, I think they are unattractive and often downright disfiguring in that they make the person look far less attractive than they truly are.
I have seen hundreds of tattoos and I have not seen one I consider attractive or adding positively to a person’s appearance. Most, IMO, detract from the person's appearance. And I do think they are very distracting -- I know, for example, that when Carly Smithson is singing on AI all I can see is that huge tattooed sleeve on her right arm -- what was she singing again? So while I don't care one way or the other about anyone's personal taste in graphics whether they are on their bodies or the walls of their home, I am not a fan of tattoos and I find them distracting. So if someone were to walk in for a job interview with visible tattoos, I'd have to work at ignoring the tattoo to focus on their other attributes. If you do something -- whether it's dress or body modifications or personal quirks -- that distracts from selling your qualities during an interview, you are doing yourself a disservice.
I don’t like facial piercings at all and mouth piercings actually disgust me because I believe them to be unhygienic -- I kinda of have the same feeling about them as when I see someone picking their nose or spitting.
To me, these are fads, fashion fads -- IOW, they are no different than any other fad from Pet Rocks to Webkinz to this season's floral dresses. And I cannot imagine why someone would want to permanently alter their body for a fad. It’s kinda like if the Farrah Fawcett hair and polyester shirts I wore in high school in the 1970s were permanently affixed to my body and I couldn't remove them. So, when I see a younger person sporting these current fads, I just think they are part of the herd of faddists adn that they are just one in a crowd, nothing special.
When I see a middle aged man or woman sporting a new tattoo or piercing, I have the same reaction I do when they get a **** job or buy the red Corvette – midlife crisis and a desperate attempt to forestall the hands of time.
Or to quote PJ O’Rourke; “The weirder you're going to behave, the more normal you should look. It works in reverse, too. When I see a kid with three or four rings in his nose, I know there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about that person.”
Yes, facial piercings and tattoos do affect how I view a person initially. And in fact, aren’t they supposed to? If a person weren’t trying to make a statement about themselves thru their fashion choices, then they wouldn’t be modifying their body to begin with.
Like it or not, how we present ourselves to others visually has always had an impact on how we are viewed and always will – the visual impact we make is the first clue to others about who we are. Our built-in survival instincts cause us to make snap judgments about others as we try and figure out if the stranger approaching us is a friend or a foe -- that is something that is hard-wired into us in order to enable us to survive. You can rail against reality as much as you want, but it doesn't change reality.
Camicar: That was one of the most well thought out posts I have ever read. You have expressed my own thoughts perfectly.
I like the zombie one!!!Just to show how custom mine are.......
this one here is VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY original...lol it's a mixture of 2 other pics I liked with my favorite movie zombie of all time!
Where is your tattoo? I know you said it before, but I just can't remember.I got mine on my honeymoon, and if I would have gotten something more meaningful, I'd probably not care whether I had it or not.
I got two stupid (small flowers), but in retrospect I should have gotten a maltese cross there instead, since my husband is a firefighter. I have no plans to ever get another one, but I think this would be a pretty one:

I sell real estate though, and people have to trust me, and for anyone to have any preconceived notions about me... well, that takes $$$ out of my pocketbook.
I can't even begin to tell you though, how many times I've worked with clients and after awhile I'll tell them I have it, and I ask them if it bothers them, and 9 times out of 10, they'll laugh and show me their own.![]()

I just want to clarify that I don't dislike people with tattoos, I just don't like tattoos. I have very good friends who have tattoos.
.
yes it was. They don't like tattoos...and nicely put their opinions.thought out???
that was the classic post of someone with an uniformed bias!
every single part in the post that is critizing is uninformed....while the part trying to justify them selves is just that..TRYING to justify their position.
