Well, I've joined the club. I had my ear cartilege (sp) pierced last week. ( My first "wild and crazy" piercing). But I did it for medical reasons.

I don't have any tats, as they just aren't my thing.

My boyfriend is a tattoo artist. So I see all forms of people getting tattooed and pierced. Now adays people from all walks of life are getting tattooed. We see people getting their first tattood in thier 70's and professionals. I have a sleeve and I am getting the other one worked on. If I wore long sleeve shirt I would just look like everybody else. Nobody has ever came up to me or ever said anything bad about my work I have always gotten compliments. But my family who are very judgemental has never seen my tattoos luckily I live in NM and they live in NJ. In NM there are a lot of people who are tattooed u cannot go anywhere without seeing someone with a tattoo.

Tattoos can only be covered with inks darker then what they are going over. The dark colors will always show through. That is why when doing a cover up it has to be a design that will work not only with the existing colors,(you can put red or orange over pink, but not the other way around etc) but also with the dark outline as well. It has to be something that the lines will all flow together because the orignal line work will show through. Cover ups usually end up being much bigger then the original and in darker colors. If you look up cover up work online you will see how they make the new designs blend with the old.

I think that 20 years from now, there are going to be some people completely appalled that no one cares anymore if you have a tattoo or a piercing. Most younger people don't think anything negative about it.

COMPLETELY off topic but, how do you like living in Albuquerque? When I finish up my Nursing degree I'm moving out west and it's on my list.

And do your sleeves have a theme? I've always wanted quarter sleeves but I'm pretty sure my Mom would cry herself to sleep every night.

I grew up in NJ I have lived in NM for about 4 yrs. NM is completely different that NJ. I think NM is beautiful. I love during the day seeing the mountains and at night seeing the lights from the city.

Please..call me Wendie.......I still can't get over we met him 2x, never mind drank with him...just one of those being in the right place at the right time....I tried to not talk "shop" with him.....people kept coming up to him to do that and he was very very kind.....though by the end of the night/morning when people were asking for him to give them a tat he replied back that a 5 year old would do better then he could at that moment

I can totally see him being modest and gracious and kind. It's something besides his art that made me think I'd love to have him do a tat for me. He'd understand what I wanted and what it meant to me. He connects with people. Add to that if I got it in the Miami shop I could have Chris do the tat and stare at Ami for a distraction.

As Teo said he is on Miami Ink but not without reason. He is an awesome artist and deserves all the credit he is getting now.

My ears are pierced. No tatoos or other piercings because I'm afraid of needles- nearly passed out for the ear piercing. My daughter has pierced ears and wants to have her belly pierced, so I'll take her for that on Friday.
I've seen some really beautiful tatoos.

I have two tattoos..one on my foot and one on my right shoulder blade. Also have my tragus pierced and an industrial bar in my cartlidge. I have been called "wierd" and a "freak." I find tattoos (whether it be a small one, or half the body covered in them) to be very attractive!

To me, it's all about self-expression. My tattoos have alot of meaing to them (mickey on foot, ohana with hibiscuses on my shoulder). I think it is important to think about what you want, and that it has meaning...I have a huge pet-peeve of when people just up and go and get a tattoo...just some random "everyday" tattoo. But that's just me..

As for the tramp stamps.. my personal favorite belongs to my..brother.. it is beavis and butt-head, sitting on the couch. By far the most innovative stamp I have ever seen!

I also think people are a little too close minded when they judge you differently because you have some modifications. For instance, I got all of my tats and piercings while on a cheerleading squad. After my 2nd tattoo, my coach actually had the audacity to say, "I can't beleive you did another wierd thing like that. Getting another tattoo? This is so not what cheerleaders are supposed to do." All I can say is..ew?

I really want to get mine removed, but I read that greens and blues don't remove easily, and I have both colors in mine. I also can NOT stand the feeling of being shocked, and that's what I've heard the sensation is like - over and over again.

No offense, but honestly I think you're worrying too much about yours. In no way does your tatoo define who you are no matter what anyone tells you. People are more likely to judge you by the clothes you wear or your shoes before they even notice your tattoo. You've mentioned it several times now, but I haven't noticed it yet!

People are more likely to judge you by the clothes you wear or your shoes before they even notice your tattoo. You've mentioned it several times now, but I haven't noticed it yet!
