The only thing that would make the pictures from the Birthday Bash any better would be if you named the people! Wish I could have been there.

Saturday, October 17th - Join us for a DISmeet in the Beach Club Solarium ... Cakey Goodness Provided for All Who Attend!

A belated...and very happy birthday to you.

Playing with knives is fun!

Uhm...who’s the Safety Officer in this meeting? I do believe...after boasting of as an extensive ‘adult beverage’ consumption list you’ve published...placing a knife in your hand will require someone to be ‘written up’.

Curious minds want to know...what song was playing during this ‘solo birthday dance’?

And...again...LEANING. Offer additional credit to Jay for keeping you upright.

WOW!!! What a fun looking group...and very fitting for your special celebration. Thank you for sharing...K

What a beautiful cake. :goodvibes

It's great to see pictures of all the friendies enjoying your birthday. :cool1:

Your cake was amazing! I am glad you had a great time with friends! Your gifts look so nice as well!

I got the creme brulee on my birthday but nothing else. No moose bush, no palate cleanser (I don't mind if they don't come with vodka). So it ain't birthday. It's just you.

Tell Jay to try the calimari at Red Square. I know, it sounds incongruous.

But someone managed to turn down the volume a little bit (probably manually) on the TV when I returned.
That was me. I am not good with people but I can make electronics behave. If it didn't work I would have unplugged the sucker.

What a great birthday, I wish we could have been there! It also reminded me that I need to figure out a b-day cake for Whogirl. Hmmmm....

I would have been shoveling creme brulee like mad at Flying Fish, too--I love that stuff!

It was such a fun night!!!!!!:thumbsup2

I thought so, too; I'm glad you had a good time, Kat. Meeting you was lovely and thank you for coming even with that nasty root canal.

Wow-- what a great Disney birthday! Looks like so much fun!! :goodvibes

It was a wonderful day!

What a great, GREAT way to celebrate your 40th!!! :goodvibes The cake was really AWESOME, I don't think I could have cut into it!

I loved the cake - it was perfect! And I didn't do a very good job of cutting into it at all. :rotfl2:

And Brenda, we've never met (although I hope one day we do!) but I can't ever imagine that the word to describe you would be BORING!! :sad2::eek: You are BY FAR one of the MOST entertaining people on this forum, and just in sheer booze-factor alone, you can NOT be boring!! :rotfl:

Awww, you're so sweet. Thank you very much for the compliment - you made me smile. I hope we have a chance to meet some day soon - I can tell from your trippies that we'd probably get along just fine!

I like the Disney Channel "XD" in the background :)

The cake is super adorable.

We couldn't fingure out how to turn that darn TV off no matter how we tried. It became something of a running joke after a while.

And thanks - I loved the cake; they did a great job on it!

B! It was a great night! Thank you for providing a way for us all to meet up!!! Everyone was so wonderful and sweet!!!
:lovestruc

Hiya Chelsi! I'm so glad you and Jason were able to share it with us - we had a wonderful time. And yes, this group of friendies is a terrific bunch! :goodvibes

What a cake! What a celebration with DISfriends! How wonderful!! WOW!!! :thumbsup2

It was really a lovely evening - I couldn't have asked for a better way to welcome the 4-0!

:faint: I finally caught up on the reviews!

Great party Brenda, it was so cool being there and meeting everyone. The cake was fantastic as was all the booze :cloud9:

Hi Deb; welcome back! Thanks for spending the evening with us and bringing that lovely bottle of Rosa - I really enjoyed meeting you and hope we have a chance to do it again some day. :goodvibes

Believe me El, she is far from boring.:goodvibes Having been lucky enough to have met both of you I can say y'all would get along famously!:thumbsup2

Awww, thanks Kat.

Loved the b-day party pix! So glad the evening worked out well! :goodvibes

DH was walking by the computer as I was looking at them, saw the cake pctures and said "That is a really cool cake!" He usually just says "Is it chocolate?" ;)

Thanks! We really did have a lot of fun and the cake was awesome! The lady in private dining said they don't get many requests for Goofy so they were excited to have something a little different to play with. :thumbsup2

There's a story behind that Disney XD playing on the TV. When we first arrived, the TV was LOUD. And we couldn't find a way to turn the volume down. So I took a considerable amount of time in the Beach Club lobby trying to find someone with the Power and Authority to either turn down the volume or turn the TV off.

The cast member at the concierge desk said that the Recreation cast members had the key to the console that held the Wand of Power (aka the remote control), and she tried to call them or page them. No luck. But someone managed to turn down the volume a little bit (probably manually) on the TV when I returned.

And about this review...

I can't imagine what I was saying to pose like "I'm a Little Teapot" in one of Brenda's photos. :rotfl2:

Ah, the great TV caper! Thanks for trying!

As for the picture ... I thought you were dancing???

The only thing that would make the pictures from the Birthday Bash any better would be if you named the people! Wish I could have been there.

We sure wish you could have been there too, Elin! And I didn't put any names on the pics only because I was too lazy. :rotfl2:

A belated...and very happy birthday to you.

Thank you!

Uhm...who’s the Safety Officer in this meeting? I do believe...after boasting of as an extensive ‘adult beverage’ consumption list you’ve published...placing a knife in your hand will require someone to be ‘written up’.

I tried to hand the utensils over to Jay but he refused because it was my birthday and my cake and that means I have to butcher it. :lmao: He gets all the blame!

Curious minds want to know...what song was playing during this ‘solo birthday dance’?

No song ... someone said smile and I decided to do my best "royal wave" impression! :rotfl2:

And...again...LEANING. Offer additional credit to Jay for keeping you upright.

I think I have bad posture! And we really did have a great time - our foodie-boozie friends are lovely people! :thumbsup2

I figured you were entertaining the troops!

She was!!

What a beautiful cake. :goodvibes

Hi Bridget! Thanks for stopping by to take a look - wish you could have been there!

Your cake was amazing! I am glad you had a great time with friends! Your gifts look so nice as well!

Thanks very much! The cake was fabulous, both the decoration and the taste and we had a lot of fun. And the gifts were a wonderful, thoughtful surprise. :goodvibes

Wow. I don't know what to say ... or think. :confused3 I guess we caught them on a generous night.

Tell Jay to try the calimari at Red Square. I know, it sounds incongruous.

Duly noted - he wants to know if it's special Russian squid? ;)

That was me. I am not good with people but I can make electronics behave. If it didn't work I would have unplugged the sucker.

Thanks very much - I know it was a lot more peaceful once the damn TV was at least silenced.

What a great birthday, I wish we could have been there! It also reminded me that I need to figure out a b-day cake for Whogirl. Hmmmm....

I would have been shoveling creme brulee like mad at Flying Fish, too--I love that stuff!

Hi Jamie! Yes, we wish you guys had been there, too; it was a fun night and the cake was great! And the creme brulee at FF is terrific ... next time I hope to enjoy it a little more slowly.

Ain't no party like a friendie party, 'cause a friendie party don't stop!

What a great birthday/gathering/boozefest.:thumbsup2 That was a super sweet thing of you to do, getting everyone together and plying them with your sugary boozy wares.

I wish my trip had been later. It would have been nice to meet everyone and wish you a happy b'day in person. But it looks like when FriendieCon 2- Taking the Ditch occurs I'll be there to bump into everyone.

Wow, that looks like the perfect way to celebrate the big 4-0, Brenda! Good friends, good booze, and a gorgeous Disney cake!!:thumbsup2 Welcome to the fabulous 40s -- I've been here awhile and it's really a pretty good place to be;)!

It really was a fun time - wish you could have been there with us.

As for me ... honestly with people taking precious vacation time to come celebrate with us I felt like I needed to do something to say thanks. :goodvibes

It is beginning to sound as though there will be a full frontal friendie assault on the Ditch early in October. Stay tuned for details! :thumbsup2

Hi Lori - happy new year!

It was a fun evening - I was very fortunate to be able to ring in the 4-0 in such a great way. :goodvibes

Glad to know the 40s aren't so bad ... I didn't think they would be but you never know, right?

I'm so glad you were able to celebrate your birthday in such a special way, because you totally deserve it! It looks like a great, boozy time was had by all!

I am so impressed with the adorable gifts you put together - esp. that chest with the mini bottles. It's SO clever and so like you to think of something like that. I refuse to believe that you are boring IRL, because anyone who can come up with the ideas and jokes that you can is going to be fun to be around. ;)

Well, I survived them... does that help? :rotfl2:

I'll take all the encouragement I can get! :rotfl:

WHAT FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the birthday meet pics! I wish we could have been there...looks like a great time..and what a cake!!

Hi Gina! It was mucho fun and while I wish you could have been there you did have something more important and fun to do ... wedding, honeymoon, Hawaii. :thumbsup2

Thanks very much for the kind words ... ... I do wish you'd been able to be there with us - it was a fun time.

Awwwww, so sorry those name tags didn't stick. Can I blame it on the humidity please? :rolleyes1

B, your cake was awesome. Did it taste as good as it looks?:thumbsup2
You all looked like you had a great time but then again, that's easy to do when you and Jay are in the room.

BTW...who is the lady in the red top? She looks familiar. Perhaps another DISboard legend? :)
