This thread is my escape each day! Our house officially goes on the market on the 25th and the "stager" comes tomorrow to tell us what else we need to do and of course, spend $$$ on. Everyday it's painting, scrubbing and cleaning.....Looking at the pictures on this thread is like a quick escape for a few moments!

And your pics along with everyone else's are my escape too.:goodvibes Good luck with the house Kathy.:)

Wow, great pic. How did you get so low for this shot? Did you only have to go to your knees, or did you pull an on-your-stomach shot?

Thank You :)

I actually had a small little hand held tripod. But my DH would get down on his knees at times or lay down on his stomach to try and get that perfect shot. :rotfl2:

Joining in on the new thread! I posted on the old one before it closed so I hope you don't mind another picture today...

Now going back to look at the amazing picture that were already posted! :goodvibes

In the recently closed Picture of a day thread We-Luv-Disney posted a Beautiful photo of the General Joe Potter ferry boat that makes the run from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom. I love Disney watercraft photos and have taken quite a few myself, additionally I think that the renaming of the three ferries in honor of some of the folks who played a part in bringing WDW from dream to reality was a fantastic idea, So I shared one of my own ferry photos of the Admiral Joe Fowler and gave a brief description of the careers of both of these men, but that leave one more ferry named in honor of one more Disney legend the Richard F Irvine

There is now a portrait of each of these men on their ferries, and near the bottom of each is a small plaque, the plaque on Irvine's portrait reads as follows:

Richard F. Irvine first joined Disney as an art director in 1943. A decade later, he became one of the original members of WED Enterprises (now Walt Disney Imagineering), the organization of designers, artists, architects, and engineers responsible for the planning and development of Disneyland. As head of WED Enterprises, he directed the design of Walt Disney World until his retirement in 1973. this boat is named in his honor.

from his Disney ledgends page:
http://legends.disney.go.com/legends/detail?key=Richard+irvine

Senior vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering John Hench recalled, "Because Dick had worked with movie set designs, creating structures and settings, he understood our needs more than standard architects, such as "forced" perspective, making things smaller to give the illusion of being farther away and other optical values."...

Dick was convinced that the motion-picture artists, art directors and technicians, with their imaginative know-how and theatrical experience, could produce an outstanding theme park. ...

Until his retirement in 1973, Dick headed design and planning for all Disneyland attractions, ranging from the Haunted Mansion to Pirates of the Caribbean. He also guided creation of attractions featured at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, including It's A Small World. Dick went on to help shape the master plan and attractions at Walt Disney World and in 1967, was appointed executive vice president and chief operations officer of WED Enterprises (Walt Disney Imagineering).

Thought I would give everyone the heads up. But the other thread Pic of the Day Part 7 is now closed. ALL POTD pics will be posted on this thread. :thumbsup2
