LOL...nah...4th generation Natchezian here. That side of the river was where some of the cotton plantations were for the "rich folks" in Natchez. All the opulent antebellum homes and the place where the steamboats docked were and are on the Mississippi side of the river in Natchez. Google "Natchez Under the Hill" for more info. The river would flood the plains of Concordia Parish, LA each year depositing rich nutrients that made the soil very fertile. That stopped, for the most part, after the Corp of Engineers started building the levees in the late 1930's. If it weren't for the levees though, the flood of 1973 & 2011 would have completely covered several Parishes on the Louisiana side. Enough of the history lesson. Too bad I don't have some pics for this thread of those gorgeous mansions in Natchez. Who knows why Disney used Vidalia instead of Natchez. Maybe someone didn't do their research well enough or maybe they like Vidalia onions?
(BTW, Vidalia onions are from Georgia, not Louisiana!)![]()
The Mississippi river goes to Georgia?

Maybe the Immagineer was from Vidlia and did it for his hometown.
