DGD got a surprise last night she wasn't expecting for at least a year. At 10:15 her phone rang; it was the Editor of our local newspaper and bearer of good news following the Bellville High School Athletic Boosters Club meeting earlier in the evening. She was being inducted into the Bellville High School Sports Hall of Fame in May! :dance3:

She'll join the State Champion Tennis Team of 2018 as one of three of the youngest inductees and the first BHS soccer player to earn the honor. An athlete becomes eligible after he/she finishes playing the college sport of their choice. We knew she'd eventually be inducted after her record breaking 4 years at BHS but normal wait time is 7-10 years after high school graduation...we were just hoping we'd still be alive to see it!

Never dreamed she'd get the honor in her first year of eligibility! She needs to submit a photo with her biography for the Press Release and to go on the plaque that will be on display at BHS. Told DD it was a good thing she'd had a professional photographer take her senior pictures so she'd have a good one to submit. Warmed my heart when DD said no...she wanted to use one of Mimi's photos! So...spent the evening going through hundreds of photos; she'll have to decide but this is one of MY favorites!
