Pics Of the Contemporary Vacation Club!!!!

Thanks again, corpcomp. I actually managed to save it!

Some more nice detective work, vascubaguy. :thumbsup2

Barnum, sorry I missed the irony. ;) I too walk past the flying rugs as if they don't exist. :lmao:

rinkwide, help.....how do you see open corridors? And I surely hope you are wrong on that count!!!!!

It does look as if there is a huge skylight though.

We were at the MK today and we got to ride in the front of the monorail. During the ride my DH asked our driver if he knew anything about the next DVC. He told us all about the pic and that he thinks it's definitely a go.

We sold our BCV DVC when we moved to Florida but we'll buy back if the Contemporary villas happen.

Ok....Now I'm a bit scared......

So, here's a statement for the record:

Tink10 shall not be held responsible if the pictures posted of the possible Contemporary Vacation Club are inaccurate in any way. Tink10 will also not be held responsible if current or future DVC owners scrimp & save their pennies to purchase points at the Contemporary Vacation Club & it ends up looking like a smaller version of "the big toaster"

I just posted em because I thought people would like to see them......

I think it could be themed after the Disney movie, The Brave Little Toaster. :thumbsup2

Does anyone else think it looks a little like someone was playing with SimCity's Sim Theme Park?

Actually, the building does bear a slight resemblance to the Watergate Hotel...

Which is also a very ugly building. I know this one is all about location, location, location, but you'd think they'd come up something with a little more pizzaz.

<Mystified Look> I couldn't imagine a more appropriate look for the building than what they've got in that rendering. :confused3

I've been trying to keep up with this while on vacation (without ticking off my DH). I am disappointed with the design. I was hoping it would be something we would like to add on points. I do love the location. *sigh* For us it was a big thumbs down (where is that smilie when you need it!). I guess I'm not a high rise girl.

On to the next rumor for us..... VAKL.

Ya know, I was just thinking...

The next big question will be... "when will they start selling points?!"

A lot will depend on the construction time table. But, if we figure late '08 as "opening date", we can probably figure late '07 as an "on sale" date. Since you can't get your points prior to resort opening (unless they offer an incentive where you get 1 year previous points), and they won't want a use year much before 1 year prior to opening even with an incentive, I think that's a logical assumption.

Can anyone poke holes in that theory for me and play devils advocate?

I'm clueless about the whole procedure but, sounds reasonable to me.

Still trying to figure out how it would work as an add-on to existing contract.
Since my UY is Oct. I assume I'd need to add on for Oct, unless I wanted to buy a full-blown (150 pt.) contract.

Hope I wouldn't have to wait until they sell Jan thru Sept UY or do they open all UY up for purchase @ initial offering announcement date?:confused3 How did it work for SSR add-ons?

Florida law requires timeshares to be started and have some done - don't remember what percentage before sales can start.

DVC has always been very proper in following Florida law.

Hmmm, that's interesting....and in direct contradiction to what some other posters have said about pre-sales on previous resorts. Maybe because your points buy you other accomodations within the same system there is an alternate interpretation?

Can somone who did a presale on a previous resort comment?

I'm sure spiceycat is right, but it doesn't completely jive with others who have reported different circumstances with new resorts (BCV, I think??..and perhaps even SSR).

no VWL and BCV were almost finished.

SSR was partial finished before it began - it was had the underground stuff.

Since this building will be much bigger than the wings it would replace - I don't think it qualities - but I could definitely be wrong.

now the AKL one - sounds like it won't be a new building - just redoing part of the resort - They could start selling this one now - if that is what they are doing.

on the BCV I say it could not possible be a DVC resort - so I can be wrong BIG TIME.

Gosh, I can't wait; this is thrilling and if they offer both CRV and VAKL I'll be buying both. We may starve, but we'll be happy!!!

Well, you have to visualize.

Think of the resort as a big letter "C". Looking down from the top. On any one of the levels there will be a central hallway leading to rooms on both the inside and outside of the curve. The outside of the bend (facing MK) is completely filled in with consecutive rooms. The inside rooms (lake/neighbor view) are not a solid bank as there's less room on the inside of an arc; Thus the notched look to the inside of the "C". Those gaps along the inner edge are where the hallways have rooms on the outside but not on the inside.

Now, I suppose Disney Vacation Development could - at great expense - put windows in those areas, seal the whole building off and air-condition the entire 15 stories but do you really think they will?

Who ever said there won't be another monorail expansion for a while? :rotfl:

I will definately be adding on if VAKL and CRV come around!!! :)

How many different acronyms do we have now for a DVC at the CR?

The architects had it as Contemporary Disney Vacation Club (CDVC)

then we have the others:
CRV
CVC
VCR

Since the last 3 are used for other things.... I'm thinking CDVC or CV?
