Pics Of the Contemporary Vacation Club!!!!

We'll hopefully, add on. We have 350 points at BWV. Dh and I are opening our own business next month and pray it will go well enough we can add on. I'm afraid the presales could start before we are ready! :guilty:

You have to scroll down a bit. There's a stop sign at the DVC story.

oh, okay ... will look again ... it looked like it was sorted by date so I didn't go much beyond 08/06 ;)

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hrmm... I was out at the Orange County Comptroller website browsing thru the official notices of commencement, etc... (spurred by the AKL notice in the other thread). While I was scanning, I noticed that there is another "Model Modification" in the works for the Disney's Cinema Building... (which I believe is at SSR?)... anyway, I'm guessing they might be making some modifications there over the next year to prepare to sell some new DVCs? I did see any papers regarding the CR specifically, but perhaps they are going to have the CR models at SSR?

Guess we'll just have to wait and see, but things are looking promising. And with the size of SSR, I could see them doing 2 smaller DVCs at the same. I imagine it won't be that hard for them to sell-out AKL or CR!

Everyone thinks or assumes BWV is a small resort. It has almost 400 units! Definately a mid-major resort! Contempory would probably be about the same scale as BWV in number of units.

I would think that VCR would be larger though with 15 stories? I'd think like 600-700 units ... more of an anchor resort like OKW or SSR ... except those have outside parking where VCR would not be able to support such a convenience. :confused3

An "anchor resort" would surely be stand-alone, not an add-on to an existing resort.

Let's look at the diagrams again:
contdvc2.jpg

Seems like 11 front-facing units per floor, not counting the stairwells. 13 useable floors.

contdvc1.jpg

Add another 8 side-facing units (both north and south). The interior-facing units are a bit tricky. Looks like 4 units north and south with maybe 4 or 5 central units.

So 13 useable floors with something like 28 units per floor for a total around 360 units.

Additionally, parking is right out in front of the tower so it shouldn't be a problem (they can go double-decker if they need more spots).

Seems like a slam-dunk except for the exterior hallways (look close, they're there all right).

it is looks like it is going where the wings are located now.

the wings aren't that wide. BWV and even the BCV are much wider.

It is probably about the size of VWL but taller.

Oh I will love it!!! I asked my guide about 4 years ago to add my name and she say she did.....

for all my adds on I try to get enough points for a studio in adventure season for 5 days. that is the minimum -
until the points chart is out - I won't know how many points to add on.

I would love some more at this resort... I just hope DVC builds it before my mother dies. This is her favorite resort.

Hmmm ... I saw it more as 10-12 units per floor per 'wing' (depending on 1BR/Studio Designation) with 2BR's at the extreme ends ... so going with 10, that gives 30 units not counting the 'inside' ones that face the pool. I would figure another 15 of those per floor, for 45 total times 13 floors for 585 total ... but I must admit I'm not very good with this spacial stuff. :(

Oops, that's a good point ... lot size ... thanks ... I'm sorry, I'm just not so good with this spacial stuff ... I just figured since VWL was approx 140 units and this looked to be about 3-4x as large, 600+ seemed feasible.

Thank you vonpluto and corpcomp for your help. Unfortunately I have no clue what a command click or a jpeg is. Yes, I'm helpless on a computer!

But I just started printing and then removed the paper after I had what I wanted...well a few extra sheets. :teeth:

Thank you again. :sunny:

All you have to do is press the right click button on your mouse while over the image. A window will open up. Click on "save picture as" and another box will open up asking you where you want to save the file and what you want to call it. simply call it VCR1.jpeg. It wil save whereever you tell in to (in your computer files) and then you can go into your computer, click on the image and it will open up full size.

Then again, I will try to send you a PM with the images.

Wow.....I got on here this morning & feel a little guilty. I hope I didn't get the design company in trouble. :sad1:

I hope I don't get in trouble!

What If They Won't Let Me Add On Because Of This?!?!?!? :scared1:

I would not worry about DVC.

However IF YOU ARE WRONG JUST REMEMBER THERE ARE 11,000+ DISers WHO HAVE READ THIS, GOT THEIR HOPES UP ONLY TO BE DASHED DOWN TO THE PIT OF DISPAIR, then I would worry. (Just kidding).

Just back a half hour ago. The word at DVC at SSR is "we are not telling", but they are all aware of the picture on the website that was removed. Some of the kiosk folks were adamant that they are not saying anything because they will get fired. Others say that {off the record} that this will be announced October first. They are gutting the theatre next to the information center for models of the rooms at a "new" resort without admitting anything. I think it is pretty hilarious, that Disney probably had the architecure company pull the pictures from their website because the site was getting too many hits and the information was running rampant.

I had a conversation with my guide last year... he told me that they check these boards daily and that topics brought up on here are frequently brought up in their meetings.

Howdy guides! I'd like to set up a viewing of the new models when I'm there in October... can I get on the list now? :goodvibes :teeth:

Tink10 based on feeback here at Disney, you might want to consider the witness protection program and a name change, they are looking for you. :rotfl2:

Seriously though its all anyone at DVC is talking about even at the Spa at SSR. I have heard Oct 1 from most everyone. ;)

Ok....Now I'm a bit scared......

So, here's a statement for the record:

Tink10 shall not be held responsible if the pictures posted of the possible Contemporary Vacation Club are inaccurate in any way. Tink10 will also not be held responsible if current or future DVC owners scrimp & save their pennies to purchase points at the Contemporary Vacation Club & it ends up looking like a smaller version of "the big toaster"

I just posted em because I thought people would like to see them......

hmmm, don't think I'd be the only one happy to buy into another toaster.

IMO, they could just build a bunker, clap CRV on it, and the throngs would snap it up...location, location.;)

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Where have I been??? I didnt look at this in 2 days and I almost missed doing an add on :cool1: !! I have ressies for Oct 1 in Disney but I think I will find more out if I stay home and on the boards!!! :surfweb:

So did Disney hire Scooter Libby and this is how they're handling their top secret stuff now????

Actually, the building does bear a slight resemblance to the Watergate Hotel...

Ya know, I was just thinking...

The next big question will be... "when will they start selling points?!"

I mean I'll have this last add-on paid off by December (I hope)... then I was planning to remodel the kitchen.... THEN get more points...

This is totally throwing everything off.... hrmm... maybe I can sell my add-on to buy a new add-on... I mean this takes planning yall!

I guess they are taking the 2006 F&WF events announcement approach... they won't announce it officially until a couple of days before the sale begins!
