My morning sickness has been gone for several weeks now but I am finding that I am SO picky about what I eat. Almost nothing sounds good and I find that everything tastes funny to me. I think it is driving DH crazy.

DH: What do you want for supper?
Me: I don't know.
DH: Chicken?
Me: No.
DH: Pork Chops?
Me: No.
DH: Hamburger?
Me: No.
DH: Salad?
Me. No.
DH: Sandwich?
Me: No.
DH: Pasta:
Me: No.
DH: Fruit?
Me: No.
DH: Ice Cream and Pickles?
Me: No and No.

This can go on for a VERY long time and finally he just stops asking. I did not have this problem when I was pregant with DS. Food tasted "right" and I ate almost everything. I don't know why it is so different now. DS is such a great eater and eats everything. Does this mean #2 is going to be one of those really picky eaters? Will food start tasting better after I have the baby? It would really help me lose weight if nothing tasted good but I would like to enjoy food again at some point.

Are you still in your first trimester? I had that problem until my second trimester. Then I ate everything! LOL! :)

I'm glad the morning sickness is gone for you. :)

Nope I am actually in my second trimester now. I could understand the pickiness when I had morning sickness but I really thought that once that let up things would taste better. What fun is it to be pregnant and not be able to enjoy ice cream?

I can tell you that NOTHING sounded good to me my entire pregnancy!!(of course I was VERY sick the ENTIRE time)I ate because I had to not because I wanted to!! Funny thing though, during my last prenancy I craved (a few times) lobster and I HATE SEAFOOD!!!(except tuna with tons of mayo and celery!) Of course now that I'm not pregnant anymore I can't stand lobster again!! LOL Good luck! I know what it's like to eat something that YOU JUST DON'T WANT!!

I did not have a bit of morning sickness but I still had weirdness about foods. I could touch or even look at raw meat of any kind, and if I could have gotten away with it, I'd have eaten mac & cheese (the real, baked kind) every day. I remember eating a lot of canned Campbells chicken noodle soup. Looking back on it now, more than 10 years later, the commonality there is salt! I wonder why I did not think of it before!?

Have no fear about this being linked to the baby's food preferences - DD eats just about anything, including liver!! :D

When I was pregnant with DS,my first child. I was sick everyday for the first four months. The only thing I ever wanted to eat was a Sausage McMuffin with Egg from McDonald's.

Yeah- really healthy, I know. It was the ONLY thing that would settle my stomach.

The other thing that made me sick was toothpaste. Everytime I brushed my teeth, I would gag. Of course, what do you need to do after you vomit? Brush your teeth again! It was miserable.

Luckily, I was NEVER sick when I was pregnant with DD.

This pregnancy has been really rough for me, much more so than prior. I haven't had morning sickness, it has been from 3-7 in the afternoon, and I'm 17 weeks and it is still going strong. I have found it isn't so much that the food tastes bad or strange, but the smells of cooking make me really feel awful. DH has been doing much more of the cooking to help. The only thing I'm really still having trouble eating is burger, it has to be very seasoned because plain it tastes AWFUL! So nothing sounds good at dinner time because I can't stand the smell. I have better luck if I eat a yogurt and stay away from the cooking, and then when the family sits down to eat I have a smaller meal with them. Good luck!

When I was pregnant the 1st time, everything tasted good.:teeth: I thought that meant she'd eat anything. She's a VERY picky eater though. When I was pregnant the 2nd time, I'd try to eat something and my ds would push at me until I was unable to eat 1 or 2 bites of whatever. The only thing that tasted good was baked potatoes with tomatoes. I thought he'd be a picky eater and wouldn't eat anything. He'll eat just about anything. He loves potatoes and tomatoes too.:p

Good luck, Becka.:)
