Kelly - I am so sorry you are sick. I had a sore throat last week and sniffles but it didn't go any further than that. My stomach has been churning lately, but that is most likely due to nerves. Get some rest and I hope you feel better soon!

Kathy, I love the photo of Mark! Thank him for me. I can't wait to try it on for myself. :)

Heather - hope you are on the mend too.

Christine, yes, OUR trip, which is really YOUR trip. Muhahahaha. :P

Hi Pickles!!!
Sounds like we all have the same, similir "Pickleitis" I am feeling a lot better, still tired though. It's been 2 weeks today since I started feeling Blah. I am back to blah again, so that's good!

Kathy, I can't wait to read your TR!

Christine & Tracy......Poly!!! YAY!!!! I LOVE the Poly! I'm glad it was still avail for you! What view did you get? Did you request a Longhouse???I love Tahiti, personally....balconies on all floors, double sinks, close to the quiet pool, bus stops, and TTC. Plus.....Steps from MY hammock on the beach. Not Kathy's, MINE!!!!! (even though I haven't been able to stay there to sit in it since 2005, I'm still claiming it, but you Pickles can borrow it!)

Kelly, I hope your friends can come!

Nothing much going on here....we are putting hardwood floors in (ourselves:scared1:) and are almost done. We are down to a closet and the trimwork. The trimwork will probably take a while, but I am glad to have "real" floors again, instead of subfloors and DUST!

Martina's Birthday is the end of the month, and I booked a suprise for her....we are going to a hotel in Lancaster for 1 night with an indoor waterpark. We might take her to Dutch Wonderland as well, but I'm not sure...That's $19pp and will take away from their waterpark time.

Hope all my Pickles have a great day!!!!:grouphug:

Hi, Heather. Glad to hear you are feeling a little better.

Isn't it great having your OWN hammock at your resort? I just love it. :yay:

Sounds like a great time for Martina's birthday. :)

Hello to the rest of my pickles--Tracy, Christine, Kelly and Janet. Isn't Janet due back soon?

Heather, so glad you are at least beginning to feeling better. We still have the blahs here, but part of it for me is the female issue. I'm starting to get worried as I am nauseous every day, all day - cannot be good. Not the feeling I'm going to throw up, but watery mouth..sorry to be so graphic.

Anyway, after months of searching, today checked on line for a hospital in the next town - unbelievable, they have a women's center and loads of info on the website welcoming women without insurance, saying they will help to make arrangements and offer charity care! I am going to call first thing in the morning. Please pray this is not terribly serious or if so, can be taken care of.

Sounds like a wonderful birthday for Martina, Heather!

Yep, the Polynesian! Could only mange GV this time, but Special Needs blocks a room for me - did while I was on the phone - we requested Tokelau room 2915 - it is an end room, with a partial lagoon view and if we look out over the balcony to the left, can see the castle. There is a deck with outside the door (stairway) and Wishes and the EWP can be seen from the deck. Perfect!

Tokelau is also one of the "newer" blgs - it was the first one built, then Tahiti, then Rapa Nui. I don; know why they did not put dbl sinks in all 3 longhouses, but most of Tokelau has single sinks - and all inside the bathroom. Not crazy about that set-up, but hey, we're at the Poly!! We stayed in Tokelau when it was almost brand new and in Tahiti and Rapa Nui when they were brand new - so nice then. Names have been changed though...why does Disney do that? The old names were perfectly fine! Oahu, Moorea and Pago Pago. :confused3

I am happy to share MY hammock with you!!! Hey, we've been staying at the Poly since 1982 (Polynesian Village Resort...and why did they change that???) - age has it's benefits!!:rotfl2:

Hardwood floors - nice! How did you ever do it yourselves?? Sounds a like a mammoth job! Bet it's gorgeous!

Have a great Tuesday, Pickles!

p.s. Janet called from the train on Saturday - they had a great time, though very busy. Hope we hear from her soon - no doubt she is back to work and trying to catch up.

Welcome back, Janet!!:grouphug:

I'm glad that you found a hospital that you can go to. Hopefully they can help you get this straightened out. I have dealt with hormonal issues for years (when they are out of balance, I feel much like you described) I had a hard time finding a BC pill that I can tolerate, and had 2 miscarriages due to low progesterone. I'm praying that whatever is causing your issues can be "fixed" easily. I'm glad you are able to get help!

The Poly is the resort that is the most "Disney" to me.....I remember staying there with my parents in the 70's...that is the only place that they would stay. I remember staying at the Grand Floridian when we went with my Grandparents when it first opened, and my parent's didn't like it, so back to the Poly we went! I even stayed there my first 2 trips as an adult with my own family, but just can't afford it anymore. Do you know what year they changed the name from Polynesian Villiage to Polynesian? I just picked up some Tiki God glasses at a flea market that have the old Walt Disney World Logo and say Polynesian Village, and I'm trying to date them. i looked on Tikiman's site for info on dates of the name change, but can't find anything. I am thinking the change was around 1982 or 3 but don't remember.

We love doing home improvement projects, but the hardwood floors have been a chore....just the simple packing up of my curio cabinets, china cabinet etc....I feel like I am moving. Of course, now we can't find ANYTHING either. Hopefully it will be done soon. Then we have to get everything put back together and start setting up the Christmas houses, trains and trees.

I'm glad janet made it home safely. I'm sure she's busy catching up with work. I can't wait to hear all about her trip.

Heather and Christine--found this on Wikipedia:

Since its opening in 1971, the resort has seen two major expansions; the first in 1978, with the addition of a longhouse, the Tangaroa Terrace restaurant/support facility, and a secondary pool. A second expansion took place in 1985, with the construction of two additional longhouses. In that same year, the resort adopted its current name over former Polynesian Village titles

:worship: Thank You!
Well, i know my glasses are at least 25 years old......:rolleyes1

Thanks, Kathy! I was thinking around '85 or '86...but I still thought of it as Polynesian Village for so many years that I was never sure when it actually changed. It so much prettier - Polynesian Village.

Of course, they had to go and change Disney Village to Downtown Disney which has never grown on me. I don't want to be Downtown when I'm at Disney!! "Village" is so much more appealing!

It's like WedWay and TTA - nope, never.... I did adjust to the Studios, rather than MGM, but that's not much of a leap!

Heather, I am so sorry to hear you had miscarriages.

I agree...I like :"village" Much better....and i still remember the old names for things. And I miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.:sad1:

Thanks for the hugs.

I read they are getting rid of WedWay at Disneyland!! Are they NUTS!!!! That would be HUGE mistake! It would simply not be Disneyland without WedWay. I really hope this is a crazy rumor.

Kathy, can you believe I've not even been on the Pooh attraction yet? I was so upset about Mr. Toad that I would not even go on Pooh! I will in December, especially now that I know you like it so much. :)

Trac and I have a lot to do in so little time. I want to see many of the attractions I haven't done in awhile - Hall of Presidents, Bear Jamboree, Tiki-Room (ugh to the new version). American Adventure is always a must and would like to be able attend CP once, but those lines are so long!

We don't have an ADR for EPCOT - no great options there for CS, so probably a good idea to have one and then cancel if later if we decide not to use it...but where??

Haven't been able to chat with Trac b/c my email server is being bounced by hotmail - 5 days!! RoadRunner jsut says they have to wait for hotmail procedures to take place. Terrific!

Trac, if you read this, what shall we hold over at WS??

Hi Everyone,
I’m back! Exhausted, but had a great trip. I think I’m getting the cold my sis and friend caught in Disney. I really didn’t feel like coming into work today … just wanted to go back to sleep. The time always flies in Disney … hard to come back to this “world” after being in the “world”.:sad1:

I will post a few pics in a day or two. My sister leaves tomorrow, so tonight I’m sure I will be busy. We did the Halloween night, and had a blast. This is the second hard ticket event I’ve been to (last was the P&P party) and we really had a great time. We could ride POC, TMRR several times in a row. I wished that Space Mtn was open, but you can’t have everything. The Parade & fireworks were awesome. We enjoyed the Food &Wine, we listened to several bands, and sampled our way around the world. Loved the dinner at the Rose & Crown, plus we were able to get the priority viewing for Illuminations. Rode Soarin’ 3 times, Test Track 3 times, chickened out on Mission Space. I think we saw everything possible in Animal Kingdom and I rode EE 5 times!! :banana:Yeah -- my favorite roller coaster in Disney. HS – we were able to ride TSM 3 times, RR coaster (once was enough), still can’t seem to take on TOT.

I did accomplish my goal of making park opening - once at MK and HS! First time ever! :yay:

On Monday, I met up with Kathy & Mark ~ the hour seemed to fly by – it was great meeting them both!! :yay: It makes me wish even more for our "pickles" dream trip to become a reality, so we can all meet and enjoy Disney together:)

Christine & Tracy ~ I just knew that Pop ressie would get changed! And to the Poly!!:banana: My dream is to stay there one day. I’m so happy for you both!!

By some miracle, I don’t think I gained any weight even with all that food!!

We were able to see the Halloween wishes from the Poly at our Ohana ressie, perfect timing right after we sat down. We had a window seat right directly out from the castle.

Since this was my B-day celebration and my friend's, we wore the buttons Disney gave us ~ it was a little weird at first having the CM wishing us a Happy Birthday all the time (even other guests wished us a HB!). We did get some pixie dust ~ on EE, the CM saw our Birthday buttons and let us go thru without collecting our fast passes, yippee, we got to go again! The GF gave us each a huge cupcake and a placemat, and the CP had the table decorated with confetti and ribbons and brought us out a cupcake each. We had the best service at CP - loved the dinner!!

On the bus coming back to POP the driver noticed our B-day buttons and mentioned it on the ride, so everyone sang happy birthday to us!! It was such a blast. Maybe it can be my b-day everytime I go to Disney??

I will post more, hopefully a few pics tomorrow.

Heather ~ so sorry for your miscarriages. I also had one, due to low progesterone. It was devastating for me, can't imagine it happening twice.

Christine ~ glad you have found a women's center to help you.
