Heather ~ Yeah!! your trip is paid off! What a great feeling! Glad Chris is better too.

We went to the Yanks/Twins game last night ~ what a nail biter! Yanks won it in the bottom of the 11th on a walk off home run (after tying it in the 8th on a 2-run home run). It was awesome!

Christine ~ sorry the Red Sox lost last night ... if you can root for the Yanks, I can console you on a Red Sox loss ..... buy hey, it ain't over yet. Saw at shirt at the stadium, complimenting the Red Sox as always , but I may get banned from the Dis if I repeat what it said ....

Only one of my teams hold out any hope this year - the Cubbies have no hope, so at last Boston might still come through, but do not have a good feeling this year. Nevertheless, surprises do happen!!!

Hi Pickles!

Our washer broke over the weekend. makes me REALLY glad I paif my trip off Fri...Cause we REALLY don't have the $$$ for a new washer...it would have been bye-bye Disney, but since it's already paid for......

Janet, i'm glad you enjoyed the Yankee's game. I am really frustrated with the Phillies schedule...it would be nice to have a game on at a normal time! (tonight's actually is, but we will be washer shopping.....)

Sure has been quiet around here! How is everyone? Feeling better, I hope?

It has turned cold here - well, cold for us - weather folks are saying we've skipped Fall and gone right to Winter! High will be maybe 50 today...we have a day trip planned on Saturday, but the high is only supposed to 56 and we were expecting mid-60's....Sophia does not have a jacket yet or even a very warm sweater. Mia doesn't want to go, but it will only get colder, so we should go anyway...oh, wait...weather is on right now and it's saying a high of 54 on Saturday with a 30% chance of rain! Oh my...

My allergies are nuts now that we turned the heat on for a bit last night.

PRAYING I will not catch something on our Disney trip - not worried about the resort - Disney will clean that and Trac and I will wipe everything down to be sure, baggie for remote etc...it's the plane and breathing in all that air. Yuck.

My immune system is shot due to the MS, so all kidding aside, must be very careful Trying to get a pneumonia vaccination, but the darn things are expensive - $49!! Worth it though for sure.

Well, my friends, I miss you!!

Kelly, when do you go down for the conference? Will your friends be able to join you?

Heather, how are you feeling? I do hope better now.

Kathy, how is Mark's injury? Will he be able to wrestle this year? Have been holding him in prayer.

Kari, has life slowed down or is Fall pretty much non-stop? Hang in there!!

Janet, how's your week going? Must be busy when I've not heard from you! Hope it's not too busy and you are getting some rest...you and Kari are always on the go!! Bless your hearts.

Tracy , when your hair really turns white be prepared for LOTS of women stopping you to say how much they LOVE your hair color and wish they had the same. What?? I swear, it's true!

Christine, I am the most worried about the plane too. I take Lysol wipes for the room, hand sanitizer for the parks, but it's all the recirculated air on the plane that makes me the most nervous.....if somebody sneezes in the front of the plane, they may as well be sitting right beside you in the back.

He has a cast for three weeks and go back to the doctor. If it is NOT healing well on it's own, he will need surgery with pins possibly. He thinks it is going to heal in three weeks so that he can start wrestling by December. I don't see it happening...but he is a determined young man. If he can't wrestle this year, he can redshirt and wrestle next year.

Hope all of the other Pickles are feeling well. I've missed you and hope we can all start up our chit chat again soon.

We finally got the hardwood stairs and railing put down and my upstairs is painted. Looks like a new house. So, instead of cleaning up and putting everything back in it's place tomorrow, I've decided to take a mini trip and veg out. I also hope to get some Christmas shopping done, if not finished. Mark is leaving on Wednesday for 8 days to visit his family in Ontario. It will be just Cass and me. I'm already starting to panic about it as she has been a handful lately.

Kathy, I am very sorry to hear about Mark's injury. My step daughter's boyfriend was a wrestler (top in Canada) and got injured. It ended his opportunity to represent Canada in the olympics. He never wrestled again. He's 26. I hope the cold season made only a brief stop at your house and you are feeling better and rested after your vacation. Thanks, hon. The injury is not career ending...at least we don't think so. He'll fight through this like he has the knee, the bulging disc in his back and every other ailment. But I appreciate the concern. I'm still fighting something and being here in the cold (30s at night, 40s during the day) is not helping. I'm sorry your ear is still bothering you; that has to be awful.

Maybe with it just being you and Cass, she'll calm down a little. Take a deep breath mom...you are the boss, not she!

Man, just when I thought I've seen it all...sigh.

My step son just stopped by for a visit. He and his girlfriend of three years have been having some troubles so she moved in with her mom and step dad for a couple of weeks so they can sort things out. Last night, she was having an argument with her mom. Her step dad had a few drinks into him and came up the stairs and beat the crap out of her after pushing the two of them through a window. My heat just breaks for this girl. She is so sweet and innocent. Her mom immediately kicked the husband out and said it was over and Jess was going to press charges today. Well, after sleeping on it all, her mother is begging her today not to press charges, it will ruin his life, blah blah blah. Um, nice that you put your deadbeat abusive husband before your daughter. I wanted to run and give her a big hug, I feel so awful for her. This world has gone insane, I swear.

Needless to say, step son is fit to be tied. Mark had to calm him down and tell him to let the police take care of it. His worry is that her mother will get to her and make her feel bad about ruining his career and reputation and she'll reconsider pressing charges. Ugh. What.a.mess.

Yup. I'm with you on that one for sure. She's going to be twenty one next month. She is either going to move in with her dad and step mom or back with my step son. I wouldn't tolerate that BS either. I'm here....kind of BLEH...It's been rough emotionally.

And going through a Murphy's law thing with the house...everything is breaking....we've only lived here 3 years, and it's only 9 years old!!!!

I'm sorry, Heather. I hear you on the BLEH part. I am double BLEH these days. It blows. We've been going through some home issues too, except our home is over 30 years old, so to be expected, I guess. Do you have home warranty left?

My washer kicked the can just before yours did. My dad has been here twice trying to fix it, the last time being this morning. As he was going out the door he said, "that should do it, but if not, buying a new washer will be cheaper." Um...
