This is true. Bwahahaha! Unless I were to change my flight to an earlier one... :rolleyes1 Just sayin'...

Hmmm....would be nice if you had a good night sleep before having to keep up with me.:lmao:

Don't forget to give that POP room a good bedbug check!!!:rotfl2:

Hi, Kari. We missed you...and you will NEVER be a lurker.

To everyone else, thanks for the wishes. We are truly enjoying Marco Island. It is simply beautiful. We saw at least 10 dolphins today...three went right by the condo this morning as we were drinking our coffee on the patio; two came within 50 feet of us at the beach today...they were chasing fish! It is very hot (as was Disney World)...they are having unprecedented heat--92 - 93 degrees and very humid. I spoke to Andy today; my poor son is sleeping on the sofa in the family room because my sweet pup, Cookie, refuses to go in our room where she normally sleeps; she won't even sleep with Andy in our bed...she wants to be downstairs--so Andy is on the sofa and Cookie sleeps in Daddy's (Mark's) chair.

You raised him well, Kathy!!! Bless his heart.

Marco Island sounds heavenly! So happy you & Mark are enjoying your vacation.

 to you both!

Kari ~ welcome back! It’s so nice to hear from you ~but I’m sorry to hear that you have been having such a hard time.

I do hope that Avery is feeling better every day. My heart goes out to Tucker. Bullying is so awful, they are constantly addressing this issue in the schools, but it still happens. I know how hard it is to see your child hurting. You push for that meeting with the principal ~ no child should be in the position Tucker is in. Good Luck.

Kelly ~ sorry to hear your Baylie has been bullied as well. You and Kari both sound like you are doing everything possible. :hug:to both of you.

Kathy ~ Marco Island sounds heavenly! Glad you are having a wonderful time. The 90’s temps sound great ~ it is 58 degrees here and we are having a car wash for the 6th grade!! We are going soon for our shift. See you Monday.

Pickles ~ If I don’t post before I go, have a wonderful week. I’m looking forward my trip so much ~ it will be nice to escape the craziness for a week. I won't want to come back:)
Love ya
Janet

Have an absolutely fabulous trip, Janet!! I hope you have perfect weather. Hugs to Mickey for me!

Okay Picklettes....

Here is the dilemma. I am flying to Orlando on October 23 and I arrive at 2:34 in the afternoon. I am staying at the Hilton in DTD. I have the afternoon and evening free and I am thinking about making a reservation at one of the resort restaurants for dinner. My company reimburses my meal so I can go wherever I want. There are lots of options, but I will be alone. :( OR if there is a MNNSHP that night, I could try going. I guess I will go look that up first, but again, I'll be alone.
Suggestions?

xo

Hi Pickles,

Sorry I haven'y been around much...I'm fighting some kind of bug. I just can't seem to get rid of whatever this thing is.

Sorry so many of you have been dealing with kids being bullied. That really stinks.

(As for the day and evening alone...I am not great at Disney alone...if at a DTD hotel, I'd probably stroll around DTD, eat at Earl of Sandwich....boring, I know. Which hotel will you be at?. Oh! You could check the solos board - lots of people meet for dinner or touring a park. Some might be there at the same time and maybe going to MNSSHP -that could be fun!)

Oh, Heather ...I am so sorry you're still not feeling well. Could it be a light version of the H1N1? Maybe your body is trying to fight it off?

Take gentle care and sending lots of dust that you will feel better soon.

If it were me at WDW alone, I would probably do something for myself that I would feel guilty being away from my family to do otherwise. I would probably spend the afternoon reading by the pool and soaking in the hot tub, then dinner where I could people watch (an outside table at a restaurant) and then some shopping. Or you could schedule a spa treatment... get a mani, pedi, and a massage!

We're home safe and sound. I'm too tired (and depressed--we left Orlando and it was 93 degrees and came home to 53 degrees!) to upload all of my pictures or start my CSR review or my trip report or my food review. But here are two pictures that i will share:

Me and Janet -- we met Monday night for a drink at Fulton's

And me and Nicki (of the food guru--MickeyNicki--the best food reviewer I've come across and she has never let us down in her suggestions of restaurants)

Glad you made it home safely! Hope your trip was fabulous and relaxing. Post more pics soon!

Morning, Pickles!
Kathy, thanks for posting the pics! I'm glad you guys got to meet. i can't wait to hear all about it when you are feeling up to it.

Kelly, how about California Grill for your dinner? You can take the afternoon and tour the monorail resorts, and catch thr fireworks after dinner.(Although if they will pay for park admission, I'd do MNSSHP or srtoll around Epcot, even if I was alone.....then you will have the chance to go at your own pace.)

Christine, Thanks for the pixie dust. I'm not sure what this is...I started not feeling well last Tues...thought it was just allergies/change of seasons. By Thursday Morning, I had no voice, fever, and felt like I got run over by a truck. Now the fever is gone and voice is coming back, but I am simply exhausted.

I hope all of my Pickles have a great day!!!

Good evening, Pickles!

Gee, we've been quiet lately. With Kathy and Janet away, we hardly chatted at all!

Kathy's back (great pics, Kat)! So good to see you, but know it's an adjustment to get back in the swing of things at home. You were missed, my friend.

Janet called today :) tomorrow is their last day, but their train is not until 5:30 so they will head over the EPCOT for while. Sounds like they've had a terrific trip. :cool1:

Heather, how are you feeling today? Sophia and I have had something...Mia took her to the pediatrician this morning and he gave her a prescription for a cough med. Definitely has helped. Anyway, hope you are a better each day.

Kelly, have you decided how to spend your day at Disney?

Ms Tracy & I have been having resort pickles, but it is all sorted out now! We booked POP with free dining, but then decided to go with a group rate which was fantastic - well, the TA who had that was terrible and after many attempts to get correct info we gave up and told her to cancel. By then free dining was over. Nothing was coming up on the Disney site even with Trac & I checking nearly constantly. Kathy has an excellent TA and she tried for us, but the rates I was getting were less than what she was getting and we never could figure out why.

So, the adventure continued with 2 other resorts being booked...I was not feeling good about the final resort...then I rec'vd an email from David's DVC saying points were available at $8 a point!! I was the first to sign up for a slot for a conference call with David and Member Services. Trac and I checked out all the Villas and were ready to go down the list, even accepting SSR b/c the cost was so low. We were very excited!!

So, with much excited anticipation, I made the call the next morning...sigh..that's when David tells me chances are slim to none for our dates...member services confirms this. :sad1:

Now what????

DD had been hearing of our resort dilemma for days and told me she thought I should book the resort where we most wanted to stay and she would pay the deposit as a birthday gift!! I said, well, let's make it birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day and so on... Deciding to surprise Tracy I booked BLT with a lake view...and as we read about lake views, many also have an MK view..:woohoo:

BUT then we began to learn of the studio size...barely larger than a value...and U gly......Tracy had a hilarious description, but I can't remember it right now. .:rotfl: By this morning, I knew it was not a good choice for us and way too expensive. So I did what every smart pickle would do - we are staying at the Polynesian!!!:woohoo: Yep!! Mia had a pin code (4 in fact!) and I was in her household and was allowed to use it!

Of course, there was absolutely nothing left to book but a deluxe with any code of any sort - pin, passholder, fall etc etc...even rack rates are sold out at values and moderates. It's quite unbelievable. Many airlines are still holding blocks of rooms, but when released those will go back to rack rate.

We have our ADR's and a gentle guide for our days...if anyone can pull us off the balcony!

Soooo......that's our latest news.:thumbsup2 (Oh, but I should clarify that the resort changing was all my fault, Tracy was happy anywhere!)

Wellll, I looked into flying Lily down with me so that she could go to the MNSSHP for the first time, but it is so expensive that we just can't do it. I didn't even tell her I was looking just in case this happened.

So, I called my good friend in Jax that we were with some this summer. She has a daughter named after me and two grandchildren. I asked them to come down and stay with me and go to the MNSSHP. I think they are going to. I have the hotel paid for so it is just the cost of the tickets for everyone. I am staying at the Hilton in DTD.

Now I am just waiting to see if they are really going to do it. I think they will and if not, I am going to do my usual thing. I usually eat at the Earl of Sandwich and stroll around DTD shopping. I might go to the party by myself, but I have done the Pirate and Princess party alone and all I could think was how much I missed my kids.

Long week. I am not feeling so hot... well, actually I have a low grade temp.. so I am off to bed.

xo my friends.
