Christine, I must have been posting at the same time as you last night. I missed the Christmas Trees picture from Pop....BEAUTIFUL! I would love to spend a day just touring resorts and looking at the Christmas decorations. Some day..........

Okay, pickles....please bear with me while I vent a bit...

Short story - we decided to book with a Disney Specialist Travel Agency who has/d a great group rate for POP. Tracy sent in the request form, later that evening we heard back. As shown on their website, POP was still available...$60 a per ngt inc tx for 5 ngts - EXCELLENT. We ask her to please book asap, and I call with my cc #. That was last Wednesday...we still do not have a confirmation number, nor have we heard from the TA.

Last week when Trac called with her cc# the TA told her she expected to hear back from Disney sooner rather than later, but Monday at the absolute latest. No word. Not a peep.

A good TA should keep clients up to date with what is going on...not give a deadline, then allow the deadline to pass and not let the clients know what's up. Today I sent an email, then a follow-up call 2 hours ago...nothing.

Of course, now everything we wanted is gone from the Disney site - POP sold out, POR sold out, FQ sold out...sigh...We are trying to think positive, but it's getting a bit difficult when there is nothing we can do.

I had counted on the excellent rate at POP, so $$ is now more limited, thinking I could use it as I'd need less for Disney.

I would not be as frustrated if the TA would just write or call!!!

I would be pretty P.O'ed too!
I hope the TA gets back to you soon, and gets something worked out!
Espescially cause you have now both bought airline tickets, so it's not like you can tweak your dates at this point.
My Fingers are crossed that you hear back soon!

Thanks, Heather...I am just so disappointed we have not heard back sooner. Even with a message and email saying we are very concerned - one would think she's get back to us asap.

Guess I can put CBR on a one week hold, but it's not where I want to stay during December. Any other time of year do not mind the lobby being in a separate bldg, but in December, I enjoy walking through the lobby, seeing the decorations etc.

It's a bummer b/c there is nothing else we can do..I've called and emailed, so all we can do is wait.

Tracy - want to send off an email as well? I will not panic quite yet, but kinda peeved.

Update!

Heard from the TA - she has no idea what has happened with Disney. She said to check if a charge was showing on my account from Disney as then it would have been processed and we'd be waiting on the confirmation #. Nope, no charge from Disney.

I fear there's been a glitch, other agents will book the available rooms and there will be none left.

Christine, as I think I already told you ... this is unexcuseable. She should be getting back to you, at least with the info that she is following up and will be confirming the details and will keep you apprised. To keep you in the dark, no return calls, NOT good customer service. Can you call and ask for someone else, the owner perhaps?? You probably don't want to go over her head, but now you may have lost the opportunity for POP and they need to make it right, RIGHT now. There! I'm finished.

The TA did say she will contact the "office" - but I know the owner (which is why I don't really want to complain) and getting in touch with "the office" means she has sent a note off to the agent in charge of groups. It is a good agency, but it has grown so fast, lots of at home agents (all at home agents) with some outstanding and others not up to par, but not bad enough to warrant a complaint. If we lose POP, you can bet I will complain!!

If POP, FQ or POR comes up on the Disney site tonight, I am going to hold it to be safe.

What??? FORTY?? CRAP!! You ARE younger than me ~ that age is a mere memory for me.

It sucks getting older, but I guess the alternative is not pleasant, so come December, bring on the candles!!!!

I know, I know, I've GOT to get on Facebook ~ at my age I have short term memory loss ... I knew I kept forgetting to do something ....

Christine, I agree with Janet...call or email the owner, esp. if you know her. She will be able to get this straightened out for you. You shouldn't end up having to pay more, because the TA goofed.

I hear you on the memory loss. I lost mine two years ago in December. It's the most annoying thing ever. I feel dumb as a box of hair most days.

Okay...I'm going to admit right off that I SKIMMED. I promise to go back and read everything later. First, Tracy, so sorry about Mark's job and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

We are in Marco Island; this computer is, as promised, slow as molasses. So I will not do a review of our trip until we get home. I will just say that we had a great time at Disney...although it was too short of a visit...and we are heading to the beach tomorrow. I've missed you guys.

The pickles were busy chatting last night while I was SLEEPING!!!!! 'Course, I am still tired...I am sure it must be this female issue I'm dealing with, but what to do without insurance, and all the hospitals have private practices for doctors? Must find time to go to a herbalist who specializes in hormone issues (before the nice little return on selling that gold runs out). Boy, that balance is already getting smaller and smaller.

On a good note Disney charged my cc last night for my share of POP!!! Funny tho, it came through as CRO Admin Orlando, Lake Buena Vista, FL.....hmm, me thinks someone made a call to get things a movin'.
