Kari ~ the video was not as bad at all! 6 sections, with 3 sessions each - a little over 2 hours. It was very positive, believe it or not. Only 15 questions at the end, I missed one...should have said "all above", but chose one answer...it was the one area that was not clear to me in the video. Oh,well.-Anyway...so life goes on....and, I agree, for the better.

Hope the munchkins are not too wild today!

Hi Pickles!

Tracy, I'm glad the suprise went well!

:grouphug: to all of my pickles.

We are filing Ch 7 also. I spoke with 2 different lawyers, and they both thought that we needed to just walk away and start over. Our actual amount is $32K, which is small in terms of a bankruptcy, but huge to us. And considering that almost 1/2 of that would have been for a car I no longer own... I just couldn't figure how we could keep going on like we have been for any length of time. It has just been wearing us down.

Everything will go quickly for you in court, I am sure. I know you will be glad to have it all behind you, too.

Oh,well..have my certicate so court should be simple -other my nerves...one week from today. I had to file for Chapter 7 becasue I have no assets (oh, well), but Cpat 13 requires an in person class (as you already know).

Anyway...so life goes on....and, I agree, for the better.

:hug: to you both. I know all to well about sleepless nights over finances...we were dangerously close to bankruptcy when Brian was laid off last year. I still worry...if anything else happens, I don't know how we will stay afloat. We have considered cancelling our trip, but in the grand scheme of things, if one of us gets laid off, the $$ that we are spending on this trip wouldn't cover a full month of bills anyway. Maybe I'm insane, but I know that I'll go insane if we can't get away from the real world, even if it's just 4 days.

I think you should definitely keep your trip. Sometimes you have to have something "normal" to hold on to just to keep getting through it all. We have a trip planned for Labor Day weekend to Wynn's brother's house. Whether we go or not, the kids will go with the grandparents. But I am waiting until closer to time to make the decision to cancel for Wynn and myself. I am going to see how finances roll over the next 2 weeks and see if I can find a way for us to get there. Without $$ going out every week for the car, I think I can pull it off.

I do know that once we are debt free for the most part, I am going to do everything in my power to keep it that way. We will have to get a new car, but I will not be getting and using credit cards. We will get one for emergency situations, but that is it. Otherwise, we will live off of cash and the debit card. I have gotten so used to living off of cash in the last 6 months that I can't imagine it any other way at this point.

Heather, I agree with you & Kari - your family needs this trip. Living on the edge takes such a toll.

This economy has hurt so many...with even more feeling like they are holding on by a thread.

 to all our pickles.

Darn cell phone will not take a clear picture...better than nothing.:thumbsup2

My goodness...she is 11 months old already? That's right...Mia was pregnant while we were planning last year's trip.

I could just squeeze...very gently...those adorable cheeks.

Michael, who is Greek and Italian, likes to say, "Where did I get a blue-eyed, blond hair, fair skinned baby who looks like me?". It's true! I know her hair does not look blond here, but it is dark golden blond, heavy on the gold...with a streak of white blond (can kind of see it on the our right of the pic).

She is sending you extra o's & x's Aunt Kathy.

He thought of wearing the Eeyore ears...but we thought the shirts were enough. :rotfl2:

How was your trip to New York?

Plans went a little different – I can change gears fast! Samantha is in NYC with her Aunt (and loving every minute of it!) It worked out for the best – we still don’t have AC and Samantha doesn’t tolerate heat well (and why did I visit Disney in May & August – what was I thinking???) Oh well, even though she would get thru this, it worked out better for her to go by herself (WELL, she was driven there – my sister-in-law meets us halfway). Now she gets to have an extended visit. Oh, the life of a child, so carefree!

BTW, Love the shirts:thumbsup2

Kari ~ I am in the midst of filling for bankruptcy right now...court date is August 24th..this morning I have to watch a TWO HOUR on line credit counseling session, thanks to the Bush Administration. The first session was about 30 min or so,answering a long list of questions, but this one even has a quiz at the end and I fear I'll never remember 2 hours worth of boring info. Take care...things can only get better.

Have a good Monday, my friends.

But honestly, I feel so much relief from just having talked to some lawyers and made a decision. I have slept better in the last few nights than I have in 6 months because of the constant pressure. And I know that within a very few months things are going to be 100% better around here.

Kari - I'm glad are feeling better. Just making that decision was a big hurdle. Hang in there! (you too Christine).:goodvibes

Heather, I do believe you need to keep your trip. Life is too short, we need to balance everything, and sometimes, just do something for ourselves NOW, and not always worry about the future.

Oh my pickles... good we are together. Interesting that so many of us share so much in common. Glad we can hang in there together.

HEATHER>>>>>> GO ON YOUR TRIP! Heavens to Betsy, dear.. enjoy it. Life goes by so quickly.

Christine,
She is simply beautiful. I'd love to squeeze her too.

I'll just have to come to Greensboro one day and get you and take you out to lunch :)

Kari... sorry you will be busy the time I am in Raleigh. I do go for trainings sometimes, so I will let you know.

Kathy...

Hope everyone else has had a great day.

Love you guys :)

Good morning, Pickles. I just wanted to send a big Thank you

You guys are simply the best!!!

Thanks! We really need to just get away. Doesn't it just seem like all your problems disappear while you are there?
Well I just want to say that life just SUCKS all around today. Kathy - I love you.

Same back at you Kathy!!

I'm glad she's having a good time! This will be a nice end of summer getaway for her.

Sam's having a wonderful time ... okay, so she calls me 6 times yesterday, when she gets up to ask me "what 'cha doing?", again to tell me what time they're leaving for the bus, again when they get OFF the bus, walking to American Girl, again when she's in AG, to tell me they have these REALLY cute Honey Puppy PJ's, again after they ate to tell me what they had, then when she's watching the movie Enchanted ...

I guess she doesn't miss me at all :rotfl2:

Today, she has called 3 times, but the day is still young:laughing:

Thanks! We really need to just get away. Doesn't it just seem like all your problems disappear while you are there?
Yes! When I'm in Disney, I feel like I'm a kid again ... living in the moment and nothing else matters ....:goodvibes
