Picking your UY thread got me thinking...

Is it better to have all your contracts with the same UY or with different UYs??? We just purchased a small BCV contract with a June UY and are on the waitlist to add on. I told my guide we wanted our add on to have the same UY but now I am wondering if it might be better to have a different UY. Does it really make a difference??

My understanding is that if you purchase through Disney, you will have to have the same UY.

As to resale, it would certainly be easier to have the same UY. We have different UY's for our two resale contracts-we found the perfect resale and didn't let it go because of the UY. It can be a bit challenging, but I have always had very helpful CM's when dealing with MS. I wouldn't intentionally get a differenct UY, but I wouldn't pass up a good resale because of it either. JMHO.

By defintion add-ons will have the same Use Year since they are an addendum to the same master contract. If you were to purchase 150 or more points from Disney you could select another Use Year.

Unless there is reason why your original Use Year does not work for you, I wouldn't worry about getting a different Use Year. There is certainly less accounting and confusion with one Use Year.

We have four Use Years and tracking the points is certainly more involved than having only one - but still very manageable.
