Picking up tickets early

Sort of along the same lines - my daughter and her boyfriend have a package that starts 11/9 but are arriving 11/8 and staying off-site with no ticket. We have a tour scheduled at 8:30 a.m. on the 9th and they were wondering if they could get their tickets and parking pass on the 8th and avoid having to rush to the hotel from off-site to check in and get their tickets and then make their way to MK for the tour on the morning of the 9th.

Tickets, yes. At any Guest Relations outside any theme park, or at TTC, or at either Guest Relations at DTD.

Parking pass, no.

Your DD and her BF can get their package tickets up to 3 days early, as Robo said (above). They could pay to park, and save the receipt. Then when they check-in, they could go to the resort Concierge (on the same day) and get a refund/credit. They also won't get their dining credits until check-in. If they're doing the KTTK tour, that includes lunch.

FWIW, travel agents are being told this is no longer possible and a follow up call to Guest Services got the same results.

That information is "forced" to be given out by "phone CMs" to anyone asking Disney OVER THE PHONE.

Yes, I mean to say that the info about NOT being able to pick up package tickets early...
is FORCED on the "phone CMs" to tell guests.

When you CALL, the "phone CMs" will tell you that they can no longer offer resort package tickets before the check-in date.

This has been the case for many years.

It is also the case that once guests ARRIVE at WDW, they can pick up their resort package tickets up to 3 days before check-in.

Again...
When you arrive at WDW you WILL be able to pick up their resort package tickets up to 3 days (from a Guest Relations outside any theme park or at DTD) before you check-in.

This has been the case for many years.

It's possible, IF you're staying at a Disney resort, and it's the same resort where your package stay is booked. Ask at the Concierge desk. If the person helping you knows how to handle the procedure, you'll be able to get your tickets early. Otherwise, you'll have to go to GR outside the parks or DTD.

Just to clarify if I have a package with 8 day park hopper that starts on Jan 5th and I built in extra days of tickets to pick up and use on Jan 3/4th that will work? I can begin using them two days early?

What does picking up the tickets from guest relations mean exactly? That my magic band will be activated with those tickets or will I have paper tickets?

1. OK.

2. You do not have to have "built in" any extra days to do this (although if you DID do that, it will be just fine.) Otherwise, once you get your tickets activated, you can add more days (up to a total of 10 per ticket) or even upgrade to an Annual Pass.

3. Yes. You can activate or pick up your tickets one day before check-in, two days before check-in, or three days before check-in.

4. Yes, if you have a MB.

5. WDW no longer issues "paper" tickets.
Any stand-alone park ticket that you get from WDW will be a
plastic card with a built-in RFID chip. You can choose to get a plastic ticket to use
in addition to (or instead of) a MagicBand.
