Can one person (me, the person whose name is on the reservation) pick up room keys for express passes for the entire group? We are staying at Portofino Bay, and the rest of the family is wanting to head straight to the park instead of waiting. My plan is to drop them off at either RPR or HR, depending on which park they want to head to first. But, this will only work if I'm able to pick up all 4 express passes at Portifino Bay when I go to park the car.

Don’t they need the key to get in for early entry as well as express pass unlimited?
We won't get there early enough for early entry. They'll hit a regular ride line or two while waiting for me.

So...can I pick them up for all of us?

Yes, you’ll be able to do that no problem.

They’ll ask for the other guests names and they’ll print them on the cards with the length of stay too.

Hope you have a great trip.

This is interesting, because years ago, they wanted to see everyone getting the Express passes. I had to get all 6 of us to the front check in desk, including all 4 kids. (yes this was 20 years ago lol!)

...and up until 2018(?) we had to line up to get our pictures taken for the paper express passes. I don't know how they could identify anyone since all the pictures came out so dark.

Wow, it's all so different than when I was going often! This is great that the room keys work as EPs and that I can pick them up without everyone there. Fantastic.

Potential curveball on this. We are less than 2 weeks out. My son's friend, who is a Universal hotel "child", may not be able to go. My nephew, who is 20, wants to go if my son's friend isn't able to. I went online to modify the reservation to 3 adults and one child (from 2/2), and the rate goes from $285 for the night to over $500. I'm sure that I've read that there is a simple "extra" charge per adult in the room (over 2), and that I may be able to just change this at check-in, and pay the fee there? If this is correct, and if so, how much is the extra adult instead of a child fee?

There is no "child fee," the extra adult in the Express Pass hotels I believe is $55 per night. Yes, you want to do this at the front desk where you will only pay that extra adult fee, not the additional cost of the system trying to rebook you at a current rate.
