Picking tickets up at Will Call

DBr and I have a room only reservation through Orbitz linked to my MDE account. I am going to buy 2 day base tickets on line direct from Disney using Will Call as the shipping option (cuz its free!). My 60 day FP+ window opens on 12/29.

My question is - do I ACTUALLY have to pick the tickets up before the window opens? We both have Magic Bands listed and the system asks who will be using the tickets so.... won't they be linked to our magic bands? My DD lives in Kissimmee and can pick them up if necessary but I can't see why I'd need the paper ticket before we get there (or really at all).

1- Nope.
2- Yup.
3- I'd not make a special effort to pick up the plastic tickets… but, if you have
a bit of time upon exiting a park, or some other down time, you could stop by any ticket
booth or guest relations and pick them up as a back-up, just in case.

You definitely don't need to pick up any tickets before your trip in order to make FP ressies.

You also don't even need to during your trip if you have MBs. But as Robo said if you feel like doing so it's easy enough.

On my last trip we never bothered; I just used MBs for everything.

It is handy to have the actual plastic tickets in case of a glitch with your MB. We were there with my DF in October and again in November, and he had so much trouble getting into the parks with his MB that he finally just stopped using it and used his AP instead.

Just to chime in, my friend called me in tears the night before we were leaving for WDW. She had just moved and couldn't find her families' tickets--over $1200 worth! Luckily we had linked the ticket numbers from her cards to her MDE/MDX (and I had her Magic bands LOL) to make the FP+ at 60 days out, so I assured she didn't need to buy new ones. We didn't have any issues on site using the tickets on the Magic bands.

This trip I am planning to pick up my MVMCP will call tickets since I want to enter MVMCP early at 4 pm and don't want to scan my band in case it uses one of my park days. Otherwise we are planning to just use the "tickets" on our bands. I will bring my e-receipt just in case though.
