Picking An Ipod

What would be better for a 15 year old? Ipod Nano or Ipod Touch?

I don't have a touch -so take this with a grain of salt
Touch will have a bigger "cool" factor
Touch will be better for watching TV shows and movies
Nano is a little easier to carry around and will work well for listening to music -you can watch video on it -but the screen is smaller
I have a Nano -but I would like to have a touch

My DS16 has the 80g IPOD Classic. He didn't want the Touch and the Nano wasn't "large" enough for movies, as well as every Rush compilation under the sun. He LOVES it.

I think it depends on what he wants it for. If it is mainly to listen to music, the Nano would be fine. If he wants to use it more to watch movies, or if he wants it for internet access, then you have to go with the Touch.

My 9 year old son is getting the Nano for Christmas, and my 34 year old dh is getting the Touch.

I think it depends on much music and media you have and plan to add later. The Nano is pretty good because you can carry it conviently but you after to be extra careful with the Touch.

It depends on what the person wants.

I want lots of storage, so I like the classic ipods best.

DD wanted a PINK ipod. With PINK earbuds. And a PINK sound dock. Nano.

DS wanted the coolest new gadget - itouch.

ipod classic. The amount of space teens take up with video and music is astounding. I'd get the classic for the space.

See, when I go out for walks, I like a shuffle. Got it just for that purpose.

It really just depends on the person.

OP, pretend to be on the phone and that someone is asking you a question. Say, "Oh, Lord, I have no idea. I can't help y- Wait, hold on a sec." Then turn to the teen in question and say, "Mary wants to know which is better for a teen, nano or touch?"

The teen in question will then tell you which one they like better and you can go buy that.

I agree about the shuffle, but I did not see it as a listed option in the OP.

I have the touch and it is way beyond cool. It's my lifeline - and without it I feel lost. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It has so many extra features that you don't get on the other ipods, downloadable games, internet access (where wi-fi available) and the features most good phones come with - notes, alarms, calendar etc
It's not that big in size either, a lot of people are surprised when they see how slim and light it is - although is he/she wants to use it during spot etc the nano would probably be better.

The new nanos I hear are poor quality, so I'm going with the 3rd generation 8gb nano from Amazon.com
