PI venues

Just found out from Verizon's Mobile Magic app that there are 2 bar venues active on PI - PI Live Outdoor Bar and Laffer's Cantina. DH and I were looking for a place for a beer and a chill and I thing we've found it!

Those two are not "venues" so much as walk-up stands. PI Live has a couple tables around, but neither is necessarily a place to "chill."

There are still three actual bars in PI--two are tied to restaruants, Paradisio 37 (heavy on the tequila) and Raglan Road (an Irish pub, nice selection of imports), while the third, Fuego, is also a cigar bar.

And sources say that PI Live Bar and Laffers may not even remain open during the upcoming active demolition/construction that is to take place on PI.

Hey Bob, not asking you to reveal your sources, but someone credible? And did they give you a timeframe?

I've noticed that sometimes the two stands close ridiculously early, too.

11 on weeknights, midnight Friday/Saturday, unless the weather is bad (i.e. rainy or cold). But I can tell you from personal experience, business drops off after 9:30/10. Disney did a nice job of killing the night life at DTD.

Jason, that was just an employee telling me that they didn't know if Disney planned to keep them open during the major construction. Employee did not say they were closing or that construction was imminent. They know as little as we do. Employee did confirm that the pizza booth was closing as of NYE.

Thanks. I had heard about the pizza booth (this is the second or third time they've tried to close it, guess it's finally done for), but the closing of the bars was a new one on me.

No telling how much money that pizza booth lost in earnings because the main employee that worked there was always away from the booth on a smoking break! Whoever owned that booth (or had the contract on it) was clueless about it apparently.

We did an adults only at the end of last summer and spent some time at night at Raglan Road and Fuego - Raglan Road has great food and beer options. Fuego is much smaller and a place we would stop for a beer before we headed home. Have a great time!! We had so much fun we are going back w/o the kids for a long weekend at the end of the month. (We do take them lots as well )
