Aloha! This trip will include our DS(17) and his (girl) friend (18). DON'T PANIC..she is also long-time friend of family and she will be in one room with me (Mom) while DS will share room with his Dad! She came with us last year also and we all had a blast!

They would like to go to Adventurers Club. Neither drinks! Will they be able to get in without us old fogies? (We'll be watching the stars under a Tiki torch at the POLY!!!) Will they feel out of place if they aren't drinking? Does it get WILD?

Thanks for any insight!:)

My thought is no, they won't be able to get in. A 17y/o can get in with a parent or guardian. I don't tihnk an 18 y/o will qualify as a guardian. A couple of years ago we were behind a group of cheerleaders that were with there chaperone. They were all 17 but since the chaperone didn't have documentation they weren't allowed in.

I have an 18 year old daughter of my own (she graduates from high school on June 6, man do I feel like a fossil), and she would absolutely love the AC, so if your son and lady friend enjoy interactive, somewhat improv, very funny, and somewhat bawdy (nothing they haven't read in Shekespeare) theater, they would have a great time.

If I were you . . . I would make the trip with the youngsters, and upon entry make sure you were always exactly opposite of wherever they were sitting (in the Main Salon you can sit on the other side of the statue, relatively unseen), leaving them plenty of space. A sequence of skits happen fairly regularly in the main salon, the mask room, and the treasure room. Let them have some fun, then you can slip back to the Poly, the torches and stars will still be there.

I would ask Graves the butler about the adults leaving and the youngsters staying. If he gives you the okay for them to stay by themselves, then I'd go with that. If instead he recommends they leave with you, I'd follow his advice.

Enjoy yourselves. I'd like to be there right now. Hey it's been in the 40's here for the last 5 days!

You must be 18 to enter PI after 7 p.m. unless accompanied by a pernet or legal guardian. You must be 21 to enter Mannequins and BET. Valid photo ID is required. (Source = recent DD/PI Guidemap).

Alos, those over 21 receive a special colored wristband that indicates they are eligible to purchase and consume alcoholic drinks.

You or your DH will have to accompany your DS or he will not be admitted. If he is not with you after admittance, he may be asked to leave. (Parents are supposed to reamin with their minor children).

FWIW, I think you will all have a good time

I've been in BET and I'm under 21...I know on Mondays and Thursdays you can get in BET without any probs or at least I didn't have any. They are pretty tight as far as having guests that are under being accompanied by an adult but at the Adventures Club, I don't see them giving you a hard time about it. That place is really fun and def something to check out if ya get the chance.

Aloha! Thanks everyone...I think we'll all just wait until DS is legit on his own.

Dh & I don't really enjoy that scene and we don't want to break the rules....We talked and really think if a place is trying to offer entertainment for adults, we should respect that.

DS and GF have LOTS else to do. Next year when DS is 18, he can always go then....

But we do hope all of YOU have great times at PI!
