DH and I were talking over dinner about the phrases that we find ourselves using. Phrases that we have heard from movies and/or tv shows. So we thought it would be a good topic for the DISboards.

Here are what we have found ourselves using.

From Phineas and Ferb: Yes, yes I am (or any combo thereof)

From the character River Song on Doctor Who: Spoilers

From South Park (an old ep): Oh, rainBOWS!

So, do you find yourself using phrases from movies and/or tv shows?

You talking to me

Say hellow to my little friend

B-E-A-utifull

Tellya what pilgrim

No need to put movie name or actors on these.

any line from Seinfeld can find its way into daily conversation with me. :thumbsup2

DS does this all the time. And since he's out on a cruise ship, Facebook is how we find out about his goings on. Lots of times, I think something's going on, when he's just quoting a movie. Like the night he posted "No Man! No Man! No Man!" from the movie "Yes, Man." Or "Don't call me Shirley." Or "It's the f** Catalina wine cooler." Or "I don't want to get there dead!" Or....

I don't have a clue what the middle two are from . I'm guessing the last one is John Wayne, although I only know "pilgrim" and not the "Tellya what" part. I do know the first one is from Friends :confused3.

"There's No crying in Baseball"
fom A League of their own.
At our house it means "Stop whining"

"Maybe I could stand a little peril."

"Yeah...you blend."

"I speak jive."

Generally speaking, we quote a LOT. Airplane, Planes/Trains, Jaws, Star Wars, Holy Grail, Terminator etc...

"It's tough to be a bug."

I say this all the time when I get flustered!

Another one I say almost every day to my son (and he so rolls his eyes at it from overuse) is "Room for one more, honey" taken from a morgue scene from The Twilight Zone. I say this when I pick him up from school as he's getting into the car. Sounds morbid, but I think it's funny.

Tarter sauce- Spongebob

Spoilers- Doctor Who

Stetsons are cool- Doctor Who

"You talkin' to me?" is from Taxi Driver I believe. "Say hello to my little friend" is from Scarface. I have no clue on the B-E-A-utiful--hopefully someone else knows.

I've been saying "This is reality, Greg." for years and I'd forgotten where it came from until I happened to see ET last weekend. :lmao: I'm also quite likely to quote The Godfather--it's one of my favorite movies and I know way too much of it by heart. So, two extremes there--ET and The Godfather.

And, like snoopy two, I love "That's what she said" and yes, I'm going to miss Michael a whole lot!

(DD) Phineas and Ferb- Watcha Doin'?
(Me) People's Court- I AM SO 'DONE' YOU CAN STICK A FORK IN ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not going to be ignored, Dan.

(What Glenn Close's character says to Michael Douglas' character in Fatal Attraction.) Said to DH (named Dan) when I'm trying to tell him something and he doesn't seem to be paying attention.

Don't you just love the way River says "Spoilers"?

Occassionally, we'll use "Exterminate" as well and I'll use my Dr. Who signature down at the bottom - "Wibbly-wobbly...timey-wimey...stuff."
