Ok, so I don't feel like doing any housework today and I decided to create a slidehow of photos from our recent Virginia vacation (music, transitions, the whole bit). I have Elements 4. I don't know if this is relevant to my problem, but I do NOT use the Elements organizer to download and organize my photos; I use the software that came with my Canon camera (Zoom Browser).
I opened a new slideshow, had no problem adding the 100+ photos. I added the photos in pretty much the order I wanted them, but they didn't show up that way in the bin at the bottom of the screen. However, when I try to use the "easy" way to reorder the photos (the box on the lower right with the drop-down options), the only one that works is "random". I tried using "folder location", but that put the photos in
reverse order (my photos are stored in My Pictures in dated folders (i.e., 2008_06_16, 2008_06_17, etc.). "Date (Newest First)" and "Date (Oldest First)" didn't reorder the photos at all; nothing happened. I tried it with just one slide selected and also with "select all slides" and nada.
Yes, I know I can go into the "Quick Reorder" screen where there are thumbnails of all the photos and manually move them where I want them, but I was trying to save myself some work - I basically have to move photo #150 and make it #1, then move #149 to #2, etc. Pain in the you-know-what!
What am I doing wrong? Or is there something wrong with my program when only 2 of the 5 reorder options work? Or is this God's way of telling me to get off my butt and clean?
