Found this thread of photos the day after Charley. Hope link works I've never tried it before.

Link to photos

Works fine, thanks for the link. The structural damage looks minimal in the areas the photos were taken, I hope the rest of WDW faired similarly.

And here's hoping for some sunshine for all of you brave souls that had to deal directly with Charlie!

Thanks for posting the link. It worked perfectly. Looks like lots of tree damage, but not much else in those photos.

Amazing that they can clean up so quickly and re-open the parks!

From the pictures posted form Hurricane Charlie the poster/picture taker said there were no lights until you reach Disney property. I am thinking Disney must have there own back up electrical system. What do you think?

Interesting pictures as well as commentary (i.e. "more crap")

I hope we see more pics like this as time goes on. I think the clean-up crews did a great job--must have been working quickly!

They have their own power, water treatment, etc. As importantly, there aren't any power lines above ground for trees to fall in to.

OK, after seeing those pictures, does anyone know what happened to Monorail Red? Was it obviously physically damaged, or just some sort of mechanical failure that it had to be towed?

Worked fine, good photos of some of the damage.::yes:: :wave2:

Looks a bit like some of the damage caused by straight line thunderstorms here. Not even as bad as with a tornado. Glad there wasn't any lives lost in Orlando!

I got the impression that the monorail "line" was down. It was kind of hard to tell.

Monorails did not run to Epcot for a while because of a problem with the monorail switch track. The Monorail line was fine however Red broke down and had to be towed back to the roundhouse. This is why the other monorails were stoped waiting for it to clear and why the diesel tractor was at the MK stop.
