Photopass Share...What is it?

I was wondering the same thing. The UG book doesn't seem to mention it, or at least not that I can find.

Actually I did just find some information about it. Apparently it is a service that allows Disney photographers to take pictures of you throughout the theme parks and then you can purchase the photos your want from www.disneyphotopass.com.

Maybe someone else who has used it can give more details.

Thanks. I had been reading about Photopass and am considering it for my family but then have started to hear about people doing Photopass "shares" and am wondering what this is?

I'm assuming it may be some kind of discounted Photopass that you 'share' with others and then weed out their pictures once you return home?

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

I'm totally guessing here so I might be completely wrong.....

But I know you can buy a complete CD of all of your photographs from the photopass service for $125. *Maybe* the share is that you and another group share the same photopass number and thus you share in the cost of the full CD?!?!?

Again, I am only guessing as I was unaware of this service until I started reading the boards.

A share is when several groups who don't know each other go in together on a photo cd so they don't have to pay the full price themselves. One person is the leader and collects all the $ and the card numbers and then hopefully copies the disks and mails them out to the other share members. Or what sometimes happens is that the leader keeps all the money and the sharers never receive their disks.

just for the record, that is a rare event in which you dont get it. I've only seen it a small handful of times.

We joined our first photopass share last year and it worked great. I think with the number of people in our group the total individual cost was about $18 which is a much better deal than paying over $100. Our leader assigned each of us a day after our trip to upload and edit our pics and after everyone was done I think it was another 2 weeks before receiving our CDs. The only "drawback" is that you have everyone's pics and photopass automatically separates them by park so it took me about 15 minutes going through the CDs (we had 4) to copy just our pics onto our computer. Just a little extra work on my end but again so worth the savings. The budget board usually has several threads based on when your trip is.

You forgot to mention the illegal aspect of it.;) :)

Not anymore. Shares in which $$ changes hands are no longer allowed.
