Photopass Questions

I completely understand now! And what a relief that I don't have to worry about who has the card. Thank you, granolacruncher11 & Fairy Mom
And that's a great tip: To wait a couple of days after you get home, so you have the time to work on the pictures.

bradk - I did check out this web-site and they did say that there was no limit on how many cards you can have, but what was confusing me is ordering the CD. It says on the disney web-site that "photos from multiple accounts cannot be combined onto one CD." So that's what was confusing me. I was thinking every card you got is a different account.

fair enough (i wrote that btw). i've heard the confusion a few times, especially after allearsnet posted a completely erroneous reader's tip about it. i just re-read the page and it doesn't cover that element of confusion, i'll fix it when i get back home

BradK-

Thanks for the link. It really did answer the one question I had and could not find the answer to!

Thanks:flower3: for all of the great info. We went to WDW for the first time last year and had never heard of the photo pass. We did not find out about it until the 3rd day of a 5 day trip. So we just ordered the Photo book. We are returning in Jan and plan to utilize this wonderful perk.

I can't remember exactly how much the photo was at Chef Mickey's but I think it was around $30.00. It was cheap enough that we pondered getting it because we all looked pretty good, but expensive enough that we didn't.

Actually, we were happy we didn't because we have so many Photopass photos that we don't know what we'll do with them! No reason to pay to get another one.

Also don't forget that certain character photos have their own borders. We missed this, but some attractions like HM will have custom borders as well. The photographers will also use your personal camera to take pictures. We feel the price is worth the results.

I have heard that is takes a long time to upload the pics. Can you give an estimate of what this means. I have Bellsouth DSL if that helps. Thanks!

It is a bit slow, but not painfully. I have high speed Roadrunner & with 300+ photos it took well under 5 minutes to load. It does take a long time to crop & add the borders though as each one takes a bit & when you have a lot then the time starts to add up.

I have a laptop & just worked on it for a few weekends off & on while I watched football.

I am uploading photos as I type this. We had 109 PhotoPass pics including our Luau photos. I have edited those and now have 300! I have uploaded a bunch of photos that we took with our camera. I have edited those to make another 200+ and with this new batch will most likely be over 700!

I can't wait to get the cd! Maggie

Photos that you upload and edit aren't on the CD are they? Has this changed? They have not been available on the CD before, but I know the Photopass website has changed.

You can upload your own pics? That sounds a little too good to be true? Can you access borders, sigs and special FX (tink, simba etc.) with your own pics? Can anyone confirm?

I have looked through a lot of photopass posts and sites, but am still a not clear about the deadlines for certain actions. I would appreciate confirmation or correction on the following items if anyone has been able to find the answers (not looking for guesses):

1. When you order a CD, your order is good for 180 days. I assume that this means you must order your CD within 180 days (or does it mean you must have pictures taken within 180 days, and you then have 30 days to order, see below).

2. When you get one or more photopass cards, each is good for 30 days. I assume that this means each must be linked to an account within 30 days from the first (or last?) picture.

3. You have 30 days to make edits and order your CD. 30 days from when? Entering your first PP card? Or your last one?

Some posters recommend waiting until after your vacation to enter your PP cards to your account to increase the time you have to make edits. This increases the chance that you will lose the card numbers. I would feel safer adding the numbers at WDW as soon as I get the cards. I would like to be sure, however, that pictures taken after adding a card number would be included. I would also like to be able to delay the ordering deadline to 30 days after the last card is entered.

Photopass is a complex program. The verbal descriptions have fillled many pages. Some of them mention these deadlines in passing, but do not clearly define them.

I have got a bunch of character dinners planned and scheduled and want to make sure I am clear...

When you are at character dinners, you can use your own camera, right? Will the photpass photographer also use your camera in these events? I know that they will us our own camera out in the park (from what I have read) but I want to be sure that I can capture the magic on my own camera.

If yes (like I assume) then what is the real benefit of the PP photog? Can I not get the same great picture with the character with my own camera for "free".

I'm happy to spend my $100 on the PP CD and make that investment, but I'm not thrilled with the idea of speding upwards of $30 at each character dinner (we're doing 5)!

Would love some perspective on this.

I guess the same question would apply to character meet and greets in the park...

Thanks All

FTDD

How long are your photos stored on the site once you get home? We've been home for 3 weeks and keep forgetting to look at them.

TIA
