Photopass question

I bought our photopass+ for our upcoming trip in Sept before Memory maker came out. I called and they said I will still be able to use it for this trip and still get all the benefits of having Memory Maker, but I will be able to still get the photo CD. My question is how do I connect this to my Magic Band? Do I go to the shop in Downtown Disney and get it done - I want to be able to use it the first day of our parks which the day after we arrive.
