I have already pre ordered the cd....just got back from our trip. If I am printing them off from another source like mpix or walgreens why do I need to resize them before I order it? I understand the borders, but why does size matter>

Mainly because of the borders. So if you understand the borders getting cut off thing, you've answered your own question.

Although even on a non-border enhanced photo, you could still end up with part of the photo cut off if you have them printed in a different size than what you saved them as when you were doing the CD. Chances are that won't affect your overall photo to the point that it is noticeable, but it might if you have things near the edges of the image.

When you pick different sizes on the Photopass site, it shows you what happens to the different size photos - the ratios between the sizes is not the same and it shows you a little pop-up of the difference between what your photo will look like as a 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10.

Can you crop them on the Mpix/Walgreen's site before sending them for printing? If you can, and they don't have borders, you don't need to re-size.

Because if you add borders you have to save a copy of the pic in the size you plan to print.

4x6 and 5x7 prints have different ratios of width to height 1.5 for 4x6 and 1.4 for 5x7. If its saved as a 4x6 and you print at 5x7, slightly narrower, the photo printer can either crop the sides a little or shrink it in and add a little bit of white border to the top and the bottom.

Actually I think all pics are saved as 5x7 unless you specify another size.

You can resize on Mpix...so Im good on those without borders...Now when I am resizing those with borders, how do I know what size I'm doing? All I see is my zoom in and out

It's in the top right where you'd choose what size to order. Choose "2 4×6" or "1 5×7" depending on what size you want it to print.

The pictures themselves are in a 2×3 ratio (so they'll print correctly in either 4×6 or 2×3) but when you edit, for some reason it changes to 5×7 so you need to remember to change them back if you plan to print in a 2×3 ratio.
