Photopass on Magic

This is very similar to the system on Royal Caribbean. We sailed on Navigator of the Seas last March. At first I couldn't understand why they kept asking for a room key for every portrait and I was hesitant to give it. hth:goodvibes

Is this on all Royal Caribbean ships? We'll most likely be sailing on the Serenade Of The Seas to Alaska next year. It'll be interesting to try it out. Thanks for the tips about groups, as we will be most likely travelling with two other families.

PhotoPass on the ship sounds great. We have been hoping for this for quite a while. I'll be watching for more updates on the process.

sorry if this has been answered else where...still fairly new here...

but why can't DCL implement the same system they have in the parks and water parks? i don't understand why they just can't hand out the little photopass cards they do at the water parks with the wristband at CC and use them for the rest of the photos? :confused3

Well, I think they could do that, but thats an extra card for everyone to carry around, we already have a readable card the KTTW Card and we all generally carry that around with us so why not use that.

In the parks they have to use a photopass card as only a percentage of people stay at Disney resorts, most stay offsite and use all different ticket media.

that makes sense :) thanks for the quick response :thumbsup2

:cool1: Hope this system works as well as Photopass at WDW and DL! :woohoo:

I also hope that they eventually phase out the printing of every single photo they take. We saw lots of waste on the WB PC Repo in May. :sad2:

We just disembarked from the Double Dip Halloween cruise (it was fun, but the weather/seas were horrible for the first four days), and I have some news. This is straight from the Shutters staff who I talked to on Friday PM - Photopass will be available within two weeks. It will be for the onboard photos only, beach photos will have to wait - they are trying out some facial recognition software in the future for this.
Hopefully someone can give a fuller report on this in the next two weeks or so.

OH, MY! The photopass people at the resorts are being VERY quiet about this....I just asked one of the cm's when they will have photo pass, but he acted completely unaware! hmmmmmm:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

The photopass photographers at the resorts are not associated with the Shutter's photographers on the ships. While we are referring to it as "Photopass", I don't think it is the same as at the resort.

I would say that when they roll this out in 2 weeks, we'll learn if they'll have the CD for Phase 1 or not.

Fingers crossed here!

Causing trouble again Connie???? :rotfl:

If they get the Photopass CD option, will there be cruise meet CD sharing, oh my, lol.

Although I don't think that will be an option, since it will be attached to our KTTW cards. The next question could be, what about families in more then one stateroom, or staterooms with more then one "family". Oh My!

Hopefully I will get to give this a try in Feb on the Wonder.

I was having the same thoughts.

It would be absolutely wonderful if they did the cd's! It's a pain carrying home so many pics and hoping not to ruin them en route. We get the cd at WDW and it works great!

Oh how exciting! I have better things to do than search for our pics. I ended up buying very few because I didn't have the patience to look for them all!

Hey, just got off the Magic, and I'm here to tell you, they didn't yet have the kiosks up and running. But they were there, although there aren't many of them, so I can only imagine how difficult it will be to look through all your pictures at the end of the cruise!! I don't see how this can work unless its done over the TV system. :confused3

They have signs posted in Shutters now that says "Please refrain from stacking your photos. We encourage you to buy a photo package early in your cruise (or something to that effect!)" Also posted are the package prices.

Shutters was way more of a zoo this trip. Not sure if its because I totally left buying the pictures until Friday, or if people were frantically searching for pictures at the end of the cruise because they didn't stack them up all week! :rotfl: I had difficulty finding all our pictures on Friday, and that was even after going through them daily and weeding out ones we didn't want!

I hope they can get the "Photopass" deal up smoothly. That would be so awesome! Maybe next week?
