PhotoPass+. Is it worth it?

I am tempted by the discounted price of FP+ that one gets by buying it in advance. My husband doesn't think it's worth it, so... what's the consensus? He seems to think we'd only get a handful of pictures. I imagine that we can get a ton of pictures taken during a 5 day visit... If I remember correctly, isn't there Always a photographer available when a character is out and about? Not to mention the character meals...Additionally, it seems to me that I buying photos after the fact piecemeal is very expensive and I imagine it's not something I'd be likely to do.

You say FP+, are you talking about the Photo Pass Plus?

If so, it's nice to be able to get photos of everyone in your group without taking a camera with you and getting some nice person to take them for you.

I haven't done it. But consider the fact that a 4x6 is $15, it can be worth it. Digital downloads are the same price... Each. It can easily add up!

You might want to make the correction in your Title Line.
More people might open to read knowing you're talking about PP+

We have found PP+ worth every penny on our trips.

We love Photo Pass Plus, but we tend to be there for 10 days, so tons of photo opportunities. However, the PP+ photographers will also take photos of you with your camera if you ask. A friend does that, but she has a professional grade camera. We find that the PP+ photographers have better equipment then us, and even when we have them use our camera as well, their photos turn out better then ours.

It is also great if you want ride photos. And great to not carry those around with you all day. You just print them at home.

Our pictures did not turn out that great at all. You can give them your camera too. The pics they did with my phone and their camera look they same to us.

We didn't get it on our last trip. It just seemed like a lot of money to me, and I really do enjoy taking my own pictures.

I love the Photo Pass+. You can choose your own borders when you get home, you can do magic shots, the pics they take are high quality and you get your ride photos!

We have a group of 10 under 2 reservations, is there anyway we can be linked on one photopass??

We got it last year and so happy we did it. You will be surprised by how many photos you end up taking. A photo in front of the castle (day and night), Partners statue (in both parks), in front of cars land sign, photo w/mickey's fun wheel...to name a few. The photographers are super friendly and will direct you to make different poses. One of my favorites was a group shot of the five of us doing a big group hug with Mickey's Fun Wheel, Paradise Pier and the water behind us. Another one was a shot of our group dancing with Olaf (magic shot). I would never thought to ask for or do those photos myself.

We had photos with the princesses in their meet and greet area, Ana and Elsa, Mickey, Minnie and Pluto in Toontown. Photos with the different Cars characters in DCA. Photos from character meals. My favorite were the ride photos. We did SM and Splash so many times it was fun to compare our our funny reactions in each photo. And so many cute magic photos.

We got it last year but did not get many photos. I do not understand how some folks say they get hundreds of pictures. And a few of our pictures were not even ours. The photographer put the wrong pictures on our card. We will probably get it again this year, hoping for a couple of good shots.

My vote is a a resounding yes! We found the process to be amazingly easy and we got a ton of photos. In my estimation, the cost of this service is small in comparison to cost of other things within the parks AND it results in keepsakes that will remind you and your kids of the trip in years to come.

Take it from a Mimi ;>)

I ordered it again for this trip. The ride pics alone make it worth it IMO but I also have DD 6 who loves the characters (especially princesses) and I can crop and add borders to any picture I like and I think it's worth it. I also like the super imposed special pictures they can do. You might have to make a conscious effort to stop at more PP photographers around the park to get some more pics of you and your family but if you ever come back from vacation wishing you had more pics of everyone then PP+ is worth it IMO.

You just need to get one PP+ card. If your group splits up, they can get a regular PP card and that can be added to your account with the PP+ card. The only issue would be with ride photos, you actually need the PP+ card to get them on your account. If they go on a ride with a photo OP, they will need to keep track of the photo number and the person with the PP+ card can add the photos within 24 hours (I believe).

OP - I think it is worth it given the amount of time you will be in the parks and if you do any character meals (except Storytellers), I would definitely do it since you get the $30 photo package..

We love PP+ and get it if we're going to be at DLR for more than three days. As the PP wrote, getting the most out of it does require you to take the time to stop at PP photographers. In the afternoons, they can have long lines, but in the mornings, if you're willing to give up a few minutes of early ride time here and there, you can have so many pics taken. We also collect a lot of ride photos and get the free photo packages from a couple of character meals on 5-7 day trips, so it ends up being very worthwhile for us.

I was curious about this too as I have an old PP card I could use when the bf rides his rides alone. Do you just link both cards to PP? Or is this something you do through a ride link?

I agree: I loved my PP+. I know where to turn in your voucher for your PP+ lanyard in DL: yet can/where do you get your lanyard in DCA?

I think the photopass + is worth it IF you are interested in ride photos and/or nice printouts of photos from character meals. Then it's a no brainer - you will get your money's worth. I also think you get more attention from photographers when they know you have the pass. Disney photographers will take photos with your own camera no problem - but if you are using a smartphone camera in my experience those photos can easily come out blurry when I hand it off to others.

I have been really happy with the quality of the photos from the photopass + and I LOVE not having to take my own photos every single time. If your group splits up have people save individual photopass cards and you can add them onto the photopass + card later. You can also take a photo of the ride photos on the screen (with the number) and add those on later as well - it is best for the holder to have the pass on hand ideally for ride photos though.

As many people have written here before there are more photopass photographers in DCA than Disneyland so that's something to keep in mind as well.
