Photopass - CD or download?

I have all our photopass photos on their website now. It has been said on the boards that you can download up to 700 photos. I notice from the Photopass website that you will not get the bonus photos on the photo CD. I realise that it is $15 to get CD sent to UK. The ride photos are available to download up to 10 times before expiry date.

Just a couple of questions for those who have experience of this stage in the process.

1. What have you done - ordered CD or downloaded? What have been the pros and cons?

I'm not so much worried about cost as convenience.

2. Are you able to download the bonus photos they have added?

Thanks again

I've always ordered the CD because we have always had way too many photos to download, usually at least 2000 or more.

I always got my bonus photos added to the CD's. Last year I didn't but it seemed to have nothing to do with downloading them vs CD because at the time others were also posting that there was no bonus content at the time so I don't know if they changed it or I just ordered at a bad time.

Not much help to you I know. How many photos do you have?

I have photo pass plus this time and plan to order the CD as my photo printer will print straight from that. Kind I seems after too. What is your PC pops?!

I always opt for the CD that way they are already backed up for me.

I am also never in that much of a hurry to get them.

I have always got the bonus content on my CDs.

Not done photopass before, what are the prices like ?

Tony

The cheapest way is to go for one of the pre-order packages:
WDW Photopass Pre-order

You can get the PhotoCD for $119 which is a copy of all the images taken by the Disney Photographers.

The other option (to which I am a convert) is the Photopass plus which you can pre-order for $149. You get the PhotoCD (as above) plus you get digital images of your ride photos plus photo packages from certain dining locations (although these are a posed photo outside the restaurant we love them). They also give you a CD of stock photos of WDW.

Dining Locations:
  • 1900 Park Fare
  • 'Ohana (breakfast only)
  • Spirit of Aloha
  • Chef Mickeys
  • Cinderellas Royal Table
  • Tusker House (breakfast & lunch)
  • Hoop Dee Doo Mucial Revue
  • Akershus

Attractions:
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
  • Tower of Terror
  • Rock'n'Rollercoaster
  • Expedition Everest
  • Dinosaur
  • Priates League

Although not listed on the photopass + card they also will add the photo from Test Track

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have looked again at the Photopass website and it does include Disney's Photo CD Bonus Content. I had taken the Disney Photo Gallery photos that are not included to be the bonus content. I now realise they are not the same thing. With the photopass + I have the gallery photos on the CD they sent me. So all's well.

I notice on the website it says:

Delivery Options for Disney's PhotoCD
If you choose to download your Disney's PhotoCD to your computer, you will also be offered the opportunity to order a backup disc(s) of your order.

This is an ideal option if you want to receive your Disney's PhotoCD order quickly but still want the security of knowing you have all your photos archived separately on discs. You will be charged for shipping the backup disc to your home address.

I wonder if in the UK if that would still be the $15 we have to pay anyway. I have e-mailed to ask. I will let you know their response.

If your order the download plus the CD they will charge for the CD plus the postage. So around $30 in all.

I am never in that much of a rush and just order the CD and pay only shipping :goodvibes

I had just wondered since a CD is included in photopass plus if it would just be the international postage we would pay for.

Thanks for your response.

Just want to say thanks for all your responses. I have taken your advice and ordered the CD. Now the question is will I actually do anything with the digital photos this time. I've always got such good intentions. Then again I still haven't put my daughter's baby photos in an album yet. I bought a baby album at the time and nice scrap booking items. I figure now she is 12 she could do it herself!
I did get 4 pages of our first Disney trip done in 2008.

Make a photo book. You get lots of great book deals and they take less space than storing them in albums and you can do full/doube page spreads for any special photos. Groupon do plenty deals with various sites, Photobox and MyMemory (now Huggler) do them too, as do Tesco (currently all photobooks half price until 3rd September) and Jessops. You can even let the sofware autofill if you CBA to mess with the photos yourself :)

I know the feeling, my daughter is now 18 and I still haven't finished her baby book!! Hopefully will get it finished for her 21st birthday. But I have been trying very hard to sort ALL our photos out over the last couple of months :)

Sorry to jump on this thread. I am so confused with the difference between photopass and photopass + . Can some one please explain?
I went online to try and pre book photopass and it appears that you can only pre book photopass + . Is this correct?

Thanks for your response.

Just completed our pre-ordered Photopass + order and the only additional charge was £9.62 international shipping (after conversion from dollar price).
By the way postage on Universal Connect CD was £7.56.

You can order either from this page - CD only is at the bottom of the page :thumbsup2

Not impressed with the photopass website. Photo's are there but due to "technical difficulties" the borders are there one minute and gone the next. Normally have the photo's done in a few days. Has been almost 3 weeks and still not been able to finish.

Don't think I will be using photopass again next time as there were hardly any photopass photographers about. None of them looked particularly enthusiastic and none did any of the "magic shots". Not as many photo's this time compared to the other years we've been. Only added bonus was with the plus option to have the ride photo's added, but not all our photo's have transpired and some are missing. Not impressed! :furious:

That's what I'm planning to do. I did a photobook for my parents a few years ago of our 3 week trip in Western Canada. I used Bonusprint. It looks really good. The first thing I will do is get prints for the autograph books - some did not have pp photographers so I have on memory cards. My daughter has got a large photo album for photos and autographs so that will take a bit more work. Where do people get their prints? I have used a local Asda. Has anyone used any online retailers?
