Photopass - CD or download?

That's what I'm planning to do. I did a photobook for my parents a few years ago of our 3 week trip in Western Canada. I used Bonusprint. It looks really good. The first thing I will do is get prints for the autograph books - some did not have pp photographers so I have on memory cards. My daughter has got a large photo album for photos and autographs so that will take a bit more work. Where do people get their prints? I have used a local Asda. Has anyone used any online retailers?

I only use online retailers that specialize in photo prints and products. I wouldn't use supermarket photo services, but that is maybe because I am really fussy about print quality.

Photobox, Snapfish and Truprint (a Snapfish company) are the ones I use. There is a nominal delivery charge but the quality is super. I also like that you can choose between matt and glossy prints and Truprint has a section where you can add borders to the prints if you so wish :)

Not impressed with the photopass website. Photo's are there but due to "technical difficulties" the borders are there one minute and gone the next. Normally have the photo's done in a few days. Has been almost 3 weeks and still not been able to finish.

Don't think I will be using photopass again next time as there were hardly any photopass photographers about. None of them looked particularly enthusiastic and none did any of the "magic shots". Not as many photo's this time compared to the other years we've been. Only added bonus was with the plus option to have the ride photo's added, but not all our photo's have transpired and some are missing. Not impressed! :furious:

The photopass website has been like this for years!! I didn't bother with hardly any boarders this time as we don't really print them anyway!

I am surprised about the photographers - we saw loads in July and they had them at the water parks too.

Magic shots are hit and miss but DD had plenty of photos with Tink and some with Simba. If they are busier you just have to ask.

They can locate missing photos if you know where and when they were taken. We had some missing from Typhoon Lagoon which they found.

I know the feeling, my daughter is now 18 and I still haven't finished her baby book!! Hopefully will get it finished for her 21st birthday. But I have been trying very hard to sort ALL our photos out over the last couple of months :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Sometimes when you see all the creative threads you feel totally inadequate that you are not designing your own matching family t-shirts or sewing your own Belle dress. My excuse is that I'm too busy out at work - earning money to pay for the next trip to Disney.:)

Just completed our pre-ordered Photopass + order and the only additional charge was £9.62 international shipping (after conversion from dollar price).
By the way postage on Universal Connect CD was £7.56.

We just paid the $14.99. Actually you wonder in this day and age that they couldN't be sent from the UK. That could cut the cost of postage.

The borders are a bit random. You can get Pirates of the Caribbean borders but not with your Pirates League photos. I asked a pp photographer on Main Street if they did any magic shots and they did a Tinkerbell one. Our experience was that they didn't volunteer that they do magic shots. I gave the photographers the lanyard when waiting for characters come out. They tended to take lots of photos. This is the first time I have purchased photopass and it added a fun element to the holiday. The expiry part of the website was poor. Our ride photos downloads expired earlier than the other photos. I also got an e-mail saying the photos were about to expire and check out the new bonus content when the photos were no longer there. There are so many factors such as length of stay, whether you are doing rides or meeting characters. It's all about what feels right for you. I felt after my RC cruise last year that I wouldn't do their photos again. The $149 for 10 digital photos certainly makes Photopass seem good value.
