Ive booked Randy chapman to do my photography. Im just wondering how long before the ceremony i would need him?
What did all you previous brides do?

My ceremony is at 3pm, Im then having my pre reception from 3:30 - 4:30 and then reception from 4:30-8:30. Im then having Illuminations dessert party from 9pm-10pm.

I seem to recall Randy coming around 45 minutes before the wedding.
He took pictures of our party arriving in the lobby of the yacht club.

Are you having him there for that whole day? he calls or you call him 1 week prior to your event and talk over the plans.

I am having him the whole day, im just concerned about him having something else on in the morning, i just wanted to give him an idea of what time i will need him from!

That's nice Yup, just contact him and see what his schedule is like that day. chances are he'll just meet you 15~30mins prior.
but the 1 week in advance call is to discuss the plans for that entire event so he knows what to expect and prepare.

For our 2:30 PM wedding, Randy came at 11:30 AM. When he comes depends upon your schedule and what you want - do you want getting ready shots, are you seeing each other for pictures before the ceremony etc.

We will not be seeing each other before the ceremony. I would like a few pics of me getting ready, then i would like to do all the pics of my Fiance with the groomsmen etc and the pictures of me on my own and with the bridesmaids etc before the ceremony. So that after the ceremony all the pics that are left are the ones of us together. Im not sure how long this would take really?

Hi Laura, I am having the same problem; we are getting married at 2pm. We are having an intimate wedding so I already have a photographer for two hours for the ceremony and reception but I really wanted some nice pictures of us getting ready so I hired Randy. He is coming to my hotel at 12pm; I am having a basic package so he will then leave at 3pm just before the cake cutting reception finishes. Hope this helps.

Laura - Randy and your wedding planner will be able to help you with the schedule. If you tell them what shots you want accomplished before the wedding, they will be able to work backwards from your ceremony time to figure out when your photos should start.

Hi Laura

We had an 11pm wedding and weren't seeing each other. Randy came at 9.00 and took a few getting ready shots of us girls then went and took some of the boys - then he took some official shots of the boys then came and took some officials of us girls. It all worked out beautifully. We had formal shots after the ceremony with all the guests - then we let them go to the Cocktail Hour whilst we did some Paul and Sammy shots - we could have got to the CH for the last half hour but we decided to chat with our vendors instead and some of the CM's that made our day so wonderful. Randy stayed until the end of the reception, 5pm then we met him at UK Lower for our Dessert Party.
