OMG! I have been in the hospital on a liquid food diet for the past 4 days and this is now officially the first thing that I want to eat now that I am home! This looks so delicious! Thanks for sharing this picture (and making me hungry)

Loving everyone’s shots so far…and incredibly jealous of snow and ice scenes!


Culinary/Cooking

A couple of nights ago, we had Risotto for dinner. I started with these ingredients.

After frying the onion and then the rice in a pan, I added the stock…

...And then the saffron….and kept stirring.

(I did try to take a shot of me stirring the pot....but I just didn't have enough hands for it and sadly, I chose to finish cooking dinner over setting up the tripod.)


I also cooked the Shrimp on a Barbie and put it to one side for later.

I kept adding more stock until the rice was al dente. I then added the shrimp and the greens to the pan.

After I stirred everything through, I ended up with yet another family Favourite Food

I’d like to say that we finished the night off with Berries…but these are clearly summer berries; not winter, so it doesn’t count.

And over the last couple of days, I found this to say G’Day to you – proper Aussie Lamintons!

And some Pastry – gooey. We call these Vanilla Slices in Oz; otherwise known as Mille-feuille.

I also spied something Vintage through a Window in the city..

Which led me thinking about the other type of Vintage….those of you from the Summer scavenger hunt may recognize that I went here for my Vineyard shot and the bottles were a bonus on that outing....Yering Station, from the Yarra Valley

Yup! In honour of the Winter hunt, I broke open a bottle to enjoy! Sure fitted with the Y (why?) category as well as Alcoholic Drink; but I'll try and get another AD later on.


Ain’t no snow nor ice in Melbourne…but plenty of rain over the last few days. Sadly, my camera and I have not been quick enough yet…but I did like the composition of this Umbrella in use. Hoping for a better shot before the summer (I mean winter) is out.

Don't know how I missed this thread - loved the summer hunt and looking forward to going out and about with my camera to find things off the new list (once I have worked out what some of them are!)

Alright folks! So I got my pictures up, hoping to get even some more good shots, but I have to ask! How do I add the scavenger hunt tag to my Signature?! I'm so excited to add it!

1. Right click on the image that Pea N Me posted.
2. Select "Properties."
3. Highlight and then "copy" the address. (This will start with http and looks like the name of a website.)
4. Go to User CP and select Edit Signature.
5. If you look above where the writing goes, you will find a small icon with a yellow mountain on it. Click on this.
6. "Paste" the address from Step 3. Click OK.
7. You will now see an IMG sign in your signature.

Angel in snow - I was telling my 81 year old mom, who lives with me, I didn't know where I was going to get a snow angel pic ... she responded with .. "oh I can make a snow angel for you" The look on her face was priceless when I said - "OOKay" To my surprise she actually went and put on her coat, hat, gloves and boots and said ... "Let's go" LOL I feel certain I will have the "oldest snow angel" in the hunt

Pet being silly or in winter gear. Rufus, my Yorkie, was so funny when mom was making her snow angel. He kept trying to kiss her face like he was saying ..."Gammie get up"
