This our boy Maekchu and our son.

Maekchu (the Korean word for beer) was born in Korea. We got him as a pup when we were stationed there. He had a long, full life of 16 years. This picture is special because it's the last time our boys were together. Our son left after this picture was taken for basic training, in the Air Force. Maekchu made it through basic, but we had to put him down about a month ago, while our son was/is in tech school.

I was sure I wasn't ready for another dog for the past month. I still miss our old boy terribly. Last week my wife found Bear.

He's a rescue who a friend of my brother was fostering. I know everyone thinks their pup is the best, but he really has been great. So many reminders of our old boy, yet he's his own little unique 'person'.
