Photographing Pets

Here is my lazy Sarah relaxing on my lap.

I recently made the jump to DSLR with a Nikon D60. Still trying to learn... but Lucie frequently becomes the subject, lol. She's the best little beagle in the world! She'll be a year in a couple of weeks.

Are you going to play with me or not??

We caught Lucie looking quite longingly at all the food at Easter Brunch.

Love your shots of your girl Liesl, she is beautiful. I was rasied around German Shepherds and though I don't have one now I will always have a soft spot for them, they're such great dogs, thanks for sharing .
Thank you. They are great dogs, aren't they?

She is beautiful, as always... love this shot!
Thanks, Sha!

Beautiful shots, Linda and happy birthday to Liesl! :thumbsup2
Thanks, Todd. How's your little one doing?

Awesome shots!! :thumbsup2 Happy Birthday Liesl!
Thanks, Susan. And Happy Birthday to Hershey, too - she's beautiful. Love the running shot. If I'd had my camera with me yesterday I could have gotten some of those on the beach, too. But after a long weekend of shooting a baseball tournament, I was all smoked out and just wanted to walk without the camera for a while, LOL.

What beautiful shots of your beautiful babies, Pea and My Girls. I love seeing dogs in action.
Why, thank you! And your girls are looking lovely as always. You sure get some beautiful pet shots!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's hard to believe 5 years have gone by since we brought her home.
You can see in my OP she is in pictures # 2, 3, and the last - she's filled out a lot since those were taken when she was about a year old. My DH calls her a tank, which she is. Strong as an ox, LOL. She's a good girl and a great companion. Love her to pieces.
Aww, he's beautiful. :lovestruc Is he a St Bernard? (Love Ivan, too!)
Thanks we love Ivan too!! :goodvibes
I really really hope not!!! His mom is a corgi mix but he's only 5 weeks old and big!!! Here's a picture of him with his mom!!
Here is my DH meeting his son for the first time!! :goodvibes
And here are my happy DD's since I said yes, holding Jonas and his tiny little sister!
Thanks, Todd. How's your little one doing?
She's doing very well, although we're having some setbacks in getting her to sleep through the night. I started her on a different (and larger portion) feeding schedule this morning to see if that will help. She's growing sooooo fast. I need to take some more pictures of her and post them.
Thanks for asking!
Very cute Michelle! It does look like there's some St. Bernard in there. You might want to start putting some money away for dog food :lmao:!
I know.....I am sooo hoping he doesn't get that big! :scared1:
Here's a pick of our French Bulldog Annie. Still getting the hang of posting, hope it works...
Glad she's doing well. Is she getting enough "run time" in?
What about his Dad? :rotfl:
Love the family pics, btw - doggie and people.
Found this pic online...
I've been googling st bernard puppies online too.....:rotfl: I think DH will kill me if he gets that big!!
I can't wait to bring him home!! The girls go visit him every day. :goodvibes
By my standards yes, but probably not by Siberian standards. i try to run with her every day (I'm training her to jog long distances with me).
Not a good shot, but here you can see exactly how much she has grown in 7 weeks (the top picture was taken on March 8 or 9 and the bottom was taken today)
She definitely has gotten big! Do you know if she is supposed to be bigger/smaller than your lab when she is full grown??
The breeder told me she should get to around 55-60lbs (which puts her exactly the same size as our lab), and is actually in the upper tier of what most female Siberians weigh. Of course, there's always the exception... a good friend of mine had a female Siberian in college that weighed 85lbs.
I love seeing everyone pets and they are all cute and adorable...but ya gotta love the puppy with the blue eyes!
I'm such a sucker for the blue eyes. I can catch her doing something bad and start to scold her, but then she looks up at me with those eyes and I find myself saying something like "aw, look at the little cutie chewing the leg off of the coffee table." :lmao:
I'm new to the photography boards and new to this thread but I've gone through almost the whole thing and I love the pictures of everyone's pets! I just received my Canon EOS Rebel XSi yesterday from Amazon and took 116 pictures just playing with the thing. This is my first dSLR so I am just learning but I think some of the pictures turned out pretty good for just playing around with the camera. I have 4 dogs but was only able to get 3 of them to cooperate with me to be able to take their pictures. The one that didn't cooperate is my Miniature Schnauzer named Midnight. He's such a goober!
Here's Lexie. My 2 year old Maltese/Pappillion mixed cutie! She's usually the subject of the majority of my pictures.
This is Bo. My 4 year old Giant Schnauzer. Bear with me on these pictures....like I said, I'm still learning and I can't figure out how or why there were shadows like this in my picture.
And this is my 6 year old mutt named Harley. (I'll eventually learn how to use my camera well....)
Hope my pictures are worthy to be here amongst so many very good ones! I can't wait to learn more about my camera so I can take more professional quality pictures. I also can't wait to get more lenses.
