photo vest

For those of you who have used a photo vest, do the fly fishing vests work also? I'm thinking they might breathe a bit better, at least if made with some mesh.

I'm strongly considering getting a vest for my trip in several weeks & would appreciate any input.

I originally purchased a fishing vest as my first photo vest. The problem with it, at least the one I bought which was an inexpensive one from Sports Authority, was that it was too short and didn't give me large enough pockets in the right places.

I decided to spend the extra dollars and get a photo vest. The one i purchased is made by Domke, tons of pockets, media card holder, nice zippers and plenty of mesh and breathability. Comfort was a big issue because I can wear it for 12 hours at a time in an indoor pool with 100% humidity! One of the best purchases I have made.

All that being said, you might be fine with a decent quality fishing vest. If you can try them both on, you should and see what works for you.

I also had thought about a fidshing vest but found the pockets to be too small for lenses,,

a true photography vest will have larger pockets the ones I use have a large pocket that is divided in 2 for holding 2 lenses

I now own 3 photography vests , 1 black and 2 khaki..black for fall and winter, since I prefer black

2 khaki for spring and summer, the purpose of the 2 is I shoot a lot of car shows and walking around all day in 90 plus temps I do sweat with or without a vest..so the second vest is for backup if I need to wash a vest..

after a lot of research I found a great supplier for vests, the price is 35 dollars ,

I've seen the same vests selling for up to 100 elsewhere
