photo sharing: Your best shot from the last time you used your camera...

This was the last picture I took out in Oregon the dragonfly almost posed for me... It almost looks like is smiling at me....:rotfl:

I tried my hand at "macro" photography during our recent camping trip.

This little guy was about 1/4" in length, head-to-body. I used 3-extension tubes (13mm, 21mm, and 31mm) attached to my 70-300mm f/4-5.6 at a focal length of 140mm. Shutter speed was 1/2 second at f/11, making this a difficult subject (with the web moving from the slight breeze). It took 16 shots to get a clear one.

I'm sorry if this is a bit frightening for some of you.

This is from yesterday. I didn't know what the gull had in his mouth until I got home and loaded the pictures--then I had to laugh.

This was from the local theater's version of Seussical

She played Gertrude, and at 14 years old, completely stole the show.

I took my camera to a local mall and wanted to push the camera to see what it could do. Not a bad image at ISO 3200 and 1/4000 of a second! Why? Just to play!

Have not been able to do much shooting as of late (work has been H_ll) but I did have a small photo shoot with my baby a few days ago....

This is my 92-year-old grandmother. I took the photo yesterday. One day, I think I'll treasure this.

The photos on this thread (and Board) never cease to inspire me! Great work folks.

Thanks, Laura & Daisy2. She's a special lady. :)

Your welcome. You will always have a good photo memory of your grandmother. I have a special picture that I keep close to my heart of my grandmother. You did a fantastic job.

I haven't taken many pictures lately. I think I have been in a bit of a "funk". However, we were able to get to Gettysburg to camp last weekend. My son turned 14!!! Not sure when that happened. Anyway, I was able to get some pictures but not as many as I'd like (I got around 350). My family (grandparents, mother and her husband, sister and a cousin) were all with us and I didn't take a single picture of them. Not sure why??? My father even came to visit (he lives near Gettysburg). He picked up my son to keep him overnight and brought him back on his Harley. This was Andrew's first real ride with "Grampie". Can you believe I didn't get a single picture of him on the bike with Dad??? In fact, my camera was in the van almost the entire vacation. What in the world was I thinking???

So, here are two of my favorites from our trip:

This is from the top of the Pennsylvania Memorial:

And this is from the National Cemetary:
