Photo Sharing: Ultra Wide Angle

Okay, all you ultra-wide-angle groupies move over. You are going to have one other in your midst. I just order the Tokina 11 - 16mm. The best part — its FREE. Getting it with points. Yahooooooooo!

Can't wait to start shooting with it.

Thanks all-

Awesome shot Jeff! How did you stabalize the camera so that the rocket and your DD aren't blurry? I know I'm not that stedy!

Colleen- pretty much I just had my camera preset to shoot at 1/4 second exposures since I figured I could hold it steady that long and still get the sense of motion I wanted. Before the ride started I prefocused on my daughter in the car behind me and set the focus to manual. Then once the ride started I just snapped off pictures and hoped for a few keepers- I probably got 3 or 4 out of about 30 shots.

Thanks Jeff! I could imagine you set up a tripod in the ride! I'll have to try that effect next time we get to some rides. Probably won't be till summer. Bummer!

So Jeff, how long was the exposure on this last one. Looks like you held it open for awhile.

That was 41 stacked images- each one a 30-second exposure- and taken 10 seconds apart- so about a half hour total.

So, the really hard part must have been keeping people from bumping your tripod, huh?

Looks great. :thumbsup2
