Photo Pass Question

I know this is a dumb question but how does Photo Pass identify that you're in a picture if no one swiped your magic bands? The photographers touch your magic band so it makes sense to me that those photos are on my account but how does Photo Pass know that I rode Splash Mountain at such and such time if I was stand by? Do they have some kind of face recognition software? Or is there something tracking your magic band?

Interestingly one of the photos on my account is of another family riding TT.

The photographers use a short reader. The rides use the long reader. It scans your MagicBand just like everything else.
