will be going to the mouse in 3 week , i do not plan on carrying my wallet .i am dvc ,ap and Disney visa. i have a copy of my dvc card on my phone can i take a picture of my ap and or disney visa .to show for discount .and can i also take a photo of my driver license for id.

No you’re going to need your ID, ap card, and Disney card to get those discounts.

Disney pretended like carrying only the magicbamd could work for about 2 minutes but the reality is that we do need to bring wallets. And if you’re planning on buying alcohol, if they card you and you don’t have your ID, you won’t be buying alcohol.

If for no other reason, heaven forbid there is a medical emergency and you will want your drivers license on you. Everyone should carry official identification always. But even aside from that, yes, you’ll need it in WDW for all the reasons the previous poster mentioned.

We were kind of bad when it came to this. We went in March with 3 adults and 1 child. None of us adults carried id and we were all still able to get alcohol on our dining plan. I'm not sure if they just assumed we were old enough, but we never gave it a second thought. We always left our id in our safe in the hotel room.

I don't know how DVC is handled.

If you want AP discounts you will need to show your AP. A picture could belong to anyone and not proof it is yours.

I have never been able to get Disney Visa discounts without using my Disney Visa to purchase, so I'd need it.

A photo of a DL should never be legal or accepted, particularly for alcohol, and you should always carry ID period.

Disney is supposed to card everyone, and International visitors need Passports as foreign IDs are not accepted in FL.

My DS carries all his in one of those wallet inserts, very small. I carry a tiny cross body (hands free) wallet purse.

Count me as one who dislikes the magic bands. Bring back the key cards. I don't like wearing the band and keep it in my pocket. And as others have said, you still need your wallet anyways.

If you had been carded you would not have been able to buy if you didn’t have the ID. You just weren’t carded.

I don’t know if we were just lucky or if Disney doesn’t do a good job carding. We were there for 5 days and not carded once. Like I said, we didn’t even think about it. Dh and my SIL got alcohol at almost every restaurant and were never carded.

This makes no sense to me. Photos are not ID, and are never accepted as such. If you are traveling, you really need to have your license, your medical card, and a credit card. If you make a purchase, a picture of a Visa card will not cut it. Of all the things to leave behind on a trip, my wallet would not be among them.

WHen I traveled with my friend, a DVC owner, she needed to show her license when she wanted to use her DVC card for a discount. I have never been able to get the Visa discount without producing the card and using it to make the purchase. I have never been able to register at a hotel without proper ID, and cannot even visit my DR without ID.

I don't know how DVC is handled.
FWIW, DVC’s website has an “electronic member ID” you can use (and screen copy) that’s basically a picture of the DVC ID. It’s allowable as access to the Epcot member lounge (staffed by DVC) but I can’t recall if it works for other discounts.

Yeah, I for sure would not take that chance if I had the DDP, and possibly losing some of the value.

We've been carded, I've seen others carded, I've seen folks refused and I've seen Internationals refused because they had an ID but not a passport.

I wouldn't order alcohol unless I had my ID anywhere. I rarely get carded at places in general but I always have my ID on me-I don't think I would want to be in that position if I was asked for it and I couldn't prove I was old enough to drink. Just know for future reference just carry your IDs..it's hardly an imposition to do so but would ensure you have proper ID should you be carded.

I hate carrying a wallet or purse on vacation. What I have is a small ID pouch that is flat and the size of a credit card with a zipper and a clip. I clip it to my belt loop and it holds ID, credit card, DVC membership, AP, medical insurance card and a $20 bill. If needed it can slip flat into any pocket for extra security or for walking through security.

You can always get a small cardholder sleeve that attaches to the back of your phone too, since you mentioned you'd be bringing your phone. I always take my ID.

i google search "can you use an expired driver license as id"

Yes, if the driver license, permit or non-driver ID card (photo document) expiredduring the past 2 years. For example, you can use a New York State photo driver license that expired during the past two years as the proofs of your identity and date of birth to apply for a replacement driver license.
Use of driver license, permit or non-driver ID cards that are expired as ...
nysdmv.custhelp.com/...id/.../use-of-driver-license%2C-permit-or-non-driver-id-cards-th...

so why can"t you use old driver license to prove who you are?
