Photo Assignment: April/May '07: Spring

thanks...guess the horrendous downpour of rain we had the second we pulled into the zoo parking lot (where i took the photos) was good for something. it did clear up a little later which was good since we would have had one upset 2 yr old on our hands otherwise:lmao:

ok we are supposed to try things out on this thread right? so i have been trying some different compositions...actually planning them instead of just having them happen;) i kind of like that thought of the oriental one that has the subject in the right bottom corner but not sure if i like this or not..maybe it would be a better style with a more zen like ie empty-ish background:confused: probably would have tried to get rid of the tulips tips in the forground but didn't want to photoshop a bunch since i still am not sure how much of that is ok on this thread

Can I just say those azalea shots are beautiful!!:thumbsup2
Thanks for sharing - everything here is brown and dying for lack of water, so it is lovely to see some beautiful colour!!

I like this one ALOT. The colors are beautiful. Tulips are my favorites, but I have not had any luck getting my bulbs to come back year after year.

I posted these over on the S3 thread, too ... but they're definitely Spring-y!

Well done Jann!! Trying out something you might not have normally. Excellent job. You get an A+ for the assignment. :goodvibes :yay: :teeth:

Keep up the great pics guys. I'd have more to post myself, however its been raining since Friday and we also haven't had any flowers bloom yet. The buds on the trees are starting to come out though. Not many bugs yet either. It was supposed to be nice here yesturday and today, then a few days ago they changed the forecast and its been raining. I'm PO'd because I want to get the deck finished. Just need to add the railings and stairs, but this rain!! GRRRRRRR

Keep the pics coming!!

thanks for the nice comments (as i wipe the sweat off my brow, swhoo :lmao: )Jen, husband planted 50 tulips in our flower bed last fall and not one came up:confused: these were at the zoo, where all theirs must have come up due to the zoo poo they use, guess i just need to get an elephant :)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I need some of that zoo poo for my front lawn. I only have neighbor doggie poo and sometimes stray cat poo. I planted bulbs several different years, they rarely come up for me. I am leaving this topic now because dirty jokes are coming to mind.

All these flower pictures are making me wish for a macro lens, but it's probably not worth the expense because I'm deathly afraid of bugs, so I can't photograph those, and I'd have to go to a botanical garden to shoot flowers because I'm sure that even with a truckload of zoo poo, I couldn't get anything to grow. I figure the kids and their six frogs are about all the living things I need depending on me right now. :rotfl2:

Anyway, I haven't had much time to use my camera lately, but here are some new leaves in front of the St. Louis arch last weekend.

another composition attempt ie of: 3 things/odd number, diagonal and rule of thirds although the bottom one is more like rule of 2.5/6 ...hopefully i got one of them right :goodvibes

i do kind of wonder with multiple subjects how the r.o.t would apply...try to keep them all on one of the intersecting lines or just pick one for a subject and let the others fall where they may. any ideas or should this not be discussed here?
