Hi all,

I have a question for you...

During my trip next month I am going to have to call home to Canada quite a bit. I placed a few calls last year and the prices the hotels charge are really high! I am trying to be smarter this year.

If I use my Bell calling card will I only be charged the 75 cents per call from the hotel? Anything special I need to know about using my calling card from the Dolphin to keep the charges down?

If that won't work does anyone use pre-paid phone cards and if so where did you buy them? Are they available at the Orlando airport?

Questions, questions, questions....

Hope you can help!

Hi Taryn: We have found that the least expensive way to call home is by using our phone card at a pay phone in the lobby of the hotel. While this is not really convenient it does save a lot of money. Also, would it be possible to have the person call you at a prearranged time at your hotel?

Hi Taryn

It has been a long time for me so I can't remember the 1-800 #. What I do know that when I made calls from South Dakota a few years ago using a pay phone it was a very expensive call even though I used my Bell Calling Card. If you phone Bell Office they will tell you the 1-800 # for Canadians calling home from the US. I also know not all phone companies in the states charge this but there are so many different phone companies there that it is hard to know which ones do and by calling the 1-800 # first you eliminate that risk. The # may be 1-800-555-1111 but please check with Bell first.....have a great trip :p

I was in DW in June 2000 and needed to call home every day, sometimes twice. As well, our flight home was seriously delayed and I phoned home twice from the Orlando airport. This is the info I got from Bell before leaving: From within the U.S.A....
Dial 1-800-555-1111 and follow the instructions for a hassle-free connection and Bell Canada rates.
I can't remember exactly how much the calls cost but I do know that I didn't rush any calls and I wasn't shocked when I got my bill.
