So I know people have been waiting up to two hours for Disney World operators to pick up the line, but now today calling to book with the OBB I made on our recent cruise there is an estimated 137 minute wait.
I had to call a week ago, its was less than 10 minutes.
This is nuts.
I wish you could just book with OBB online.
I put a hold on the room I want this morning, I guess I will try again later, crazy.

I think the DCL lines are full due to the recent announcement of vaccine requirements for ages 5+ and a looming cancellation/refund deadline. If you have time to wait, I'd put off booking your cruise for a couple of days and let that issue subside.

We decided this week to change our cruise from April to January and unfortunately I finally decided to pull the trigger and call the same day that the vaccine policy changed. I have to go through Costco so I will wait for them to answer and then wait for them to call Disney. I may wait til December 1 (the cancellation deadline) - I bet things will quiet down after that. We are missing the opportunity to sign up for tastings, Palo, etc. but I'm guessing most of that is all booked already and the availability won't change that much in the next couple weeks (we may miss out on some stuff that opens up as others cancel but in my experience things open up and fill back up all the time).

According to another thread the wait was 150 minutes in September.

We are taking our first cruise at the end of January and there was still Palo availability for dinner and brunch today. Tastings were down to beer.

I called last week to make a last minute Thanksgiving cruise on a military rate. I called right when DCL was opening and spent no time on hold. Try first thing in the morning; it worked for me.

I called right at 9am this morning, waited about 25 minutes to speak to someone.

I’d stuck with what everyone else is saying about calling 1st thing in the AM… since Aug I’ve sailed 5 times and had to call in each time for each of them and the only time it took me less then 15 mins is when I BOOKED a new cruise opposed to talking about an existing one… all of my phone calls had me waiting well over an hour and sometimes even over 2.

The other times your can try is from just before 12.00 noon and between 2.00pm and 4.00pm Eastern times on weekdays. During these hours, their entire call center from east coast to the west coast is online. I would avoid the lunch hour - but just before lunch should work.

Very first thing in the morning works. And I mean the very, very first thing. Not 5 minutes after the lines open, but the very minute the lines open. I like to call the minute before so I can sit through their recorded Covid speil before it lets me enter choices. Then by the time I can enter choices, the lines have opened, and in a short time I'm talking to someone.

Set your alarm & call right when they open. It's a lot better than waiting on hold for an hour plus.

205 minute wait to move my $5,000 off my onboard credit for next week to May or lose the money once I step off the ship mid January. Ugh! So I have stuff to do like everyone else. So do I blast the sound and ruin and need to replace the speakers on my phone so I don’t miss the rep or let it go?

Call tomorrow morning immediately upon them opening & you will have only a short wait if any. Set an alarm. It works. I was quoted 170 minutes midday a few days ago, and set my alarm for their opening the next morning, & had no noticeable wait when I called immediately upon them opening.

I might sound like a broken record about this but I hate to see people needlessly suffer the vagaries of bad customer service when there's an effective workaround.

I called this afternoon to ask a question and the wait was 139 minutes. I called my TA and was on hold for over 2 hours while they were on hold!!!

Why did your TA make you wait on hold rather than say they would call you back when they got through?
