Phoenix to Orlando

Can anyone tell me a TYPICAL flight price from PHX to Orlando? I am trying to price for my mother for Sept/Oct. Right now I can get flights @ $320 w/ decent times. Anyone who flies this route frequently - are there typically more discounted fares or is that a decent price?

I am not looking at buying immediately, just trying to price it out for her.

Does Southwest fly this route, and should I try to set up the whole DING! thing? We don't get SW out of Atlanta, so I have never tried to use Ding!

Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. TIA!

Southwest does fly regularly from phx to orlando.

the homebased airline in phoenix is america west, now us airways.

you can still check flights on americawest.com. Delta flies as well, but they are closing a lot of their gates in orlando this month, so the flights are not cheap.

we are looking now for may airfare, and delta is 450, and sw and awa do have them for 206 rt with all taxes with a sat, tues or weds flight days. I generally have paid about 200 rt everytime we go.

i want to return this trip on a monday, but the cheapest i have seen so far is 260 with taxes, so we may come back on tues and pay 206. i just want to lock it in. I wanted to fly delta, but not at 400+. We fly the non stop america west flight 2 years ago and it was just fine so we may do it again this year.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know how early my Mom will let me buy her ticket- I guess I will watch SW for their airfare booking windows. She is flying in on a Friday, but out on a Saturday, so going SW, with their one-way fares, may be the best deal. Glad to know what is typical in case I run across a good deal.
