PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

I started PT yesterday and it sounds like a lot of the initial therapy is going to involve massaging the area (which HURTS!! Yikes!) She said it felt like I had "popped" some of the muscle fibers (gross) and when they healed they didn't lay down all nice and neat like muscle fibers should...so they need to work on that before they start working on strengthening the muscles. The good news is that I'm going to Bar Harbor, Maine for Columbus Day weekend and even though I can't run the carriage roads like I had initially planned, I should be okay for some light hiking (as long as I stop if anything starts to hurt). I also signed up to volunteer for the half marathon that I was supposed to be running. I'm happy that I can still be involved!!

Finally feeling like I'm on the road to recovery! Have a great weekend everyone!

Those athletic massages hurt! I go for monthly massages and it always HURTS, but then feels good later. Muscle is a tricky tissue in terms of healing. Yea for Bar Harbor, it is so pretty this time of year. What half marathon are your volunteering for? I ended up not running a half by me, but my friend's husband did. We all went out and cheered him on. I knew a lot of runners because it was a local race so it was so much fun. I rarely get to be on the cheering side so I had a blast. We all made signs, I broke out the cowbell, and I yelled for hours. Sometimes that is just as much fun as getting the medal. Enjoy!

Not a huge fan of raspberry & chocolate either... So this is 'eh' to me.

I'll hold fort over at the tequila bar while everyone eats this. :rotfl: (Hey, I have a reputation I somehow have to live up to)

Uh, yea, Tweedles have to keep their rep! :smokin: :cool2: We'll just head straight to Cava and start in on the margaritas instead of this cupcake. :lmao:

Psst...Tweedle, they are going to be SO disappointed when they realize we aren't the fallen-down-drunks we have portrayed ourselves as!

I know it!

We should make a disclaimer. Here I'll make it now...

**TWEEDLE DISCLAIMER** No Tweedle can be held responsible for the amount of idiotic bragging they might have done regarding copious amounts of alcohol consumption. Tweedle brains are easily overtaken by silly fancies and fail to account for harsh realities such as aging bodies and the inability to process alcohol properly through a Tweedle body without dire consequences like 48 hour hangover recovery time. Also, both Tweedles have memory recall issues and can't be held responsible for any claims made that they fail to remember making even though they clearly did. This phenomenon is known as Tweedle Brain. And as mentioned.. Tweedle Brains are easily overtaken by silly fancies. Thank you. Goodbye.

Was that Alice in Wonderland poetic, nonsensical, rambly Tweedly enough of a disclaimer?

PERFECT!! :lmao:

You really should have let me be Tweedle Dum, I was just going to say something like ... it's wishful thinking...we wish we were as big of drunks as we claim to be.

I love chocolate and rasberry, but any kind of jam or jelly in a cupcake doesn't sound that good to me. I think it's a texture issue for me.

I am so, so excited for my trip now! My DH finally gave me the date of his speaking engagement and I bought our plane tickets to Orlando! Woo hoo! And I just found out that my travel agency is having an event around the same time. It would be awesome if it is when I'm already planning to be there.

I ran on the treadmill this week. Usually I really don't like it but I had 3 good runs. I did a "virtual" 5K yesterday because my mom did the local Komen walk with her cousin. :)

Monday Motivation

6 DAYS!!!!

In the world of cupcakes...its a half a dozen!

I am still very much lacking in the motivation department right now...which shocks me to no end. When training for ToT, there was not a day that I missed training because I talked myself out of it. Here I am facing a 10K on Sunday and I just cant seem to get out there and take care of the running...while the run has me STRESSED! The best thing about it is that I get to see Amy H and Debra...so excited for this road trip on Sunday!

I am with you Tammie, I do not like chocolate and raspberry so I will have to pass on this one. We ordered some pins from eBay to trade on our next trip. One was a cupcake, I had to keep that one :).

A Disney cupcake pin...HOW COOL!!!!

That sounds like a fun place to run...I am finding that I love to run when I travel...something new! Even if this trip is light hiking it will be a nice change of scenery!

Finally feeling like I'm on the road to recovery! Have a great weekend everyone!

YAY...that is a good feeling! Prayers and pixie dust your way for continued improvement. I am beginning to realize this whole running thing really is just a mental game when your body wants to tell you NO!

Not a huge fan of raspberry & chocolate either... So this is 'eh' to me.

Joining you instead! My a churro in the other hand...

You two tweedles kill me and always seem to bring a smile to my face! This is great! Maybe we need to make a total disclaimer for the entire cupcake crawl...

Thank you...need to write up a Race Report...It was a great Sunday!

Motivation Monday Come on Cupcakes We Can Do This...

Found some of my missing running mojo yesterday, thanks to a great meet up with Amy (poor Debra had the flu and Cammy bailed). I can't wait to write up this race report and share it with you! I have signed up for 2 virtual runs, actually one of the virtual runs is a 3 separate runs (5K, 10K, 15K) and the other is just a 10K run. Not using these for times but for motivation to get out there when the weather really starts to turn cold. Plus they are HARRY POTTER THEMED...way too cool. As for running plans this week...we are headed for Corpus Christi for a long weekend...another college visit for Ab so I am looking forward to a beach run on Saturday morning for my long run. Schedules are starting to calm down a little with the kids so maybe I can sneak in my 2 short runs...and this week I am going to get out and walk at lunch! Enough of the excuses that I am too busy. Check in and let me know your plans and how things are going! Accountability cupcakes goes a long way...:thumbsup2 How about another PHM video to get us motivated and moving...ONLY 132 more days till we run! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pEzgKt1U0g

Where do you find info on your virtual runs?

There is a Facebook group called Hogwarts Running Club! Another cupcake posted about it on my fb page...of course being a Potter fan...well I now have 1 shiny reasons in sealed envelopes to get my mojo back!

My motivation is high, but I may have to wait a few more days to run again. My blister is huge and painful! I am getting a massage today. My calves have been so tight. I hope this helps!

Tammie - I'm glad your race went so well yesterday. :) I'm still thinking about signing up for one of those Hogwarts races. I should just do it!

OUCH OUCH OCH Brandy...hope it heels quickly.

Yes, you should just do it and sign up...the bling is pretty and it is good motivation for some upcoming long runs!

Wednesday Wonderings...

What are your must do attractions at DHS????

I MUST DO Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster of rides in. Betsy will just have to find people to talk to while I am riding ToT! And this trip Amy and I get to make funny poses on RnRC so that we can post them on our children's facebook pages for a little mommie pay back!

If I have time...I would like to ride TSM and Star Tours...I like them both but they are not must do for me

My must-do attractions at DHS...TOT, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Great Movie Ride, and Toy Story! I was always a huge fan of the Backlot Tour as well but I know it's gone now...back when I was a kid my sister and I got to ride the huge bumblebee from Honey I shrunk the kids! :)

For us the only must do ride is Toy Story - Midway Mania. I also enjoy the Great Movie ride so we catch that when the wait time is low. With so many attractions closing I am not sure we will even go to HS on our next visit. If anything we may try to get up early and hit MM then leave.

I'm with Betsy, I'll be sitting out on ToT while my Tweedle goes on it! ;) It's the ONLY ride I won't do at WDW (ok, take that back, I won't do Orange on Mission Space either). I just cannot do repetitive drops. Every time I think I might try it, I'm not willing to give up the WHOLE DAY, which is what will happen if I get nauseous. It will be the same way this time b/c I won't want to get sick before two days of races!

For me, DHS is my least favorite and I only require TSM and RnRc in that park. It's fun to take pics and I enjoy the Animation class, but that's about it!

Hi Ladies!

Tammie~ Congrats on finding come running mojo. It can be hard, especially with some setbacks. Yea for virtual runs! What is Ab looking to major in?

Brandy~ blisters stink! I know you are not suppose to, but I always drain them at a point on the edge then put on vaseline next time I run. Enjoy your massage!

In DHS, I must do Toy Story Mania. I can be peer pressured into TOT, but that is actually a recurring nightmare for me (elevators dropping) so I always regret it once I am on it. I like RR, but DD has no interest so we don't do it. To tell you the truth, for our Dec. and Feb, trips, we are not even going to DHS. I do like the Indiana Jones show because I am a big fan of those movies. DD liked it too.

So this Saturday I ran the Hartford Marathon in 47 degrees with pouring rain the WHOLE TIME. BUT, using Galloway (run 5 walk 1) I PR'd by 9 mins! I finished in 4:10! I was so excited and so freaking cold! I lost feeling in my right wrist and hand and needed a volunteer to help me open my candy. It was such a mental battle because it was so cold! I just kept counting to 100 in my head, then starting back over. It was sore for a few days, but yesterday, I had a massage and now I am back to my old self. I won't run until this weekend, but I plan to crosstrain tomorrow.

My BF is in Disney with her husband for the Wine and Dine fest to celebrate their anniversary. I am living through their adventures. I cannot wait to go!

ToT and TSMM are must-do's for me at DHS. Actually, DHS is my favorite park so everything is really must-do! ToT is my absolute favorite ride: the theming, the drops, I seriously could go on and on! I only got to ride it 5 times on our recent trip and that was not enough! :)

Speaking of my recent trip (and the reason I've fallen a bit behind on this thread), I completed the ToT 10-Miler and it was amazing! I'm so glad it was my first Disney race and it's gotten me very excited to continue my training for PHM.

I had 2 Disney cupcakes on my trip and I have to say that they were some of my favorites. The King cupcake from Pop and the Butterfinger cupcake from Starring Rolls. Delicious!

Glad to be back and catching up here. Onward to PHM!
