Hi!

Anyone think there is a chance airfare will drop form phl to lax in the near future? Im planning a work trip the week before Thanksgiving.

Thanks!

check also John Wayne Airport... SWA flies there... this is an alternate airport for LAX... I like it better it is not as busy as LAX :)

I can tell you I am flying out of BWI the week after Thanksgiving, booked my flight several weeks ago at $192.00.

It has since climbed to $488.00 roundtrip and there are only 10 seats left on the plane.

So I would snag something soon!

I would grab flights now. They are probably going to keep creaping up the closer you get.

Where are you actually going to be going once you get to california? Depending on where you will be going, LAX might not be your best bet. In the area you have 4 airport options. LAX, LGB (Long Beach), SNA (orange county/john wayne airport) and BUR (Burbank).

If you will be going South of LAX once you get to California, I would reccommend looking at LAX, SNA, and LGB. The farthest away from LAX is SNA and its only about 40-45minutes (unless there is traffic).

If you will be going North of LAX, I would recommend looking at both LAX and BUR.

I have personally flown out of Burbank, Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Hi!

Thanks - yes I've been looking into BUR, ONT and SNA as well as LAX. LAX seems to be the cheapest right now. I can still get good fares going, but coming home is the issue. Southwest seems to be the best....Also, I have to rent a car, - would LAX be the cheapest there?

for the car, it depends. What were the dates you were looking for. We've only ever rented out of LAX. We only started flying out of LGB and BUR since we moved here but I know my cousin has gotten cheap car rentals at all of the airports.

ETA: I was curious so I looked at the flights on SW the week before thanksgiving. Would you mind flying into one airport and out of another? The reason I ask is because you can fly into SNA for about $118 but their return flights are horirble. You could fly from LAX for between $139-$194.

Hi - My dates are Saturday 11/13-11/20. I would only mind flying into one and out of the other if the rental car charge would be different, you know? I was also looking into flying out of BWI...or even out of PHL and back in to BWI....lots to consider!! lol

oh yeah. I forgot about the rental car.

It looks like even though it is cheaper to fly into SNA, flying in and out of LAX would be your best bet because a car from dollar for about $250 for a standard size car.

I highly doubt you will be able to find anything better than that. That is a very good price for a rental car in LA.

we rented form dollar at LAX about 3 years ago and we were very happy with the service. The shuttles to and from the terminal were very frequent and the service was excellent.

I would advise that you book your flights soon though because I know that most of the schools where I live have off the entire week of thanksgiving and i think that is teh case for a lot of Los Angeles so if people are travelling, they will be leaving that weekend which means prices will go up.

HTH
