Should I change my flight? I'm traveling on Thursday. Forecast for Philly (10am) is 8" of snow/sleet. Forecast for Charlotte (11:30) is couple of inches snow overnight but just 1 during the morning hours. It will cost me $300 to change the flights but if it gets me where I'm going, I don't care. I'm thinking Philly can handle more snow but would just a couple of inches effect travel out of Charlotte. Please help!!

Isn't Charlotte supposed to get ice? Wouldn't that be more of a problem than snow? Your airline must have a weather advisory (or May issue one tomorrow) , could you change to the night before?

Someone posted here recently that they changed their flight to beat an impending storm and they didn't charge them a fee. Airlines would rather you leave now than have to re book you later with hundreds of others. Call them now and leave asap!

There will be no change fee. However, if the fare is more than the original fare they charge you the difference, $300. That's my understanding from the website. We were on hold yesterday for two hours. After draining two phone batteries, we gave up. We'll try again today but I'm still not sure. Definitely more snow in Philly but can Charlotte handle the few inches they will get? Yes we are traveling with USAir. I don't think we can go to Pittsburg. We are flying to Turks & Caicos. I think flights leave from Philly, Charlotte and Miami. Thanks

That's odd to me.

During the early December Dallas storm, DH changed flights multiple times (they kept cancelling them!) and he never had to pay anything extra at all. That was with American to give complete info.

Typically you don't have to pay extra when it's a weather waiver.
